King Edward VII host Jeppe High School for Boys at home in this much anticipated clash with kick-off happening at 13:30 on Reds Field. <\/span><\/p>\n

The first time these two played each other dates back to 1935.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These two Johannesburg titans, should provide spectators with a closely contested match with both teams carrying over some good form with several wins under the belt in their recent outings last weekend and at the Easter Rugby Festivals. Last year saw two fixtures played against each other with KES coming out on top on both occasions with scores of 27-26 and 19-6.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However this year Jeppe look like a side who are going to compete and are fresh off of a scintillating win over Monument last weekend where the team won by six points and showed that they could keep up with the physicality of the boys from Krugersdorp.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jeppe will be looking at fly half <\/span>Matthew Coetzee<\/b> to feed destructive outside center <\/span>Exauce Kevani<\/b> with opportunities to break through the KES backline. He has shown some great running ability and will need to be kept under wraps if KES look for a win at home. Jeppe have made one replacement to their starting XV, eighth man <\/span>Nathan Boyder <\/b>makes way for <\/span>Mosiki Ndlaba<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jeppe will look at making sure that a greater percentage of their place kicks are converted as that would be one area the team and coaching staff would have felt they could have done better in during last week’s fixture. Securing points from the boot might be what makes the difference between the two teams in the end.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last week KES beat Pretoria Boys High School at home, in what was a fiercely competitive match but the Reds coming out on top with a 28-19 win. KES have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with having put up a strong fight against Paarl Boishaai in the recently concluded KES Easter Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

KES will be looking at flanker and captain <\/span>Thandolwethu Biyela<\/b> to marshall the troops and inspire the team when things get tough. All eyes will be on the Red Army\u2019s winger, the speed demon <\/span>Timi Oluwe<\/b>. He has shown that he is not scared to go up a gear, when it is needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Will The Red Army be able to hold the fort again for a second week in a row or will Jeppe come out all guns blazing? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for certain Johannesburg is in for a treat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
