\"\"Last year\u2019s meeting between <\/span>Wynberg Boys\u2019 High<\/b> and <\/span>Diocesan College<\/b> was shrouded in controversy.<\/span><\/p>\n

As what might have begun as banter between the two schools\u2019 supporters and pupils boiled over after Wynberg managed to bring the team from Rondebosch’s impressive winning streak to an end, beating them 20-14.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, the teams face each other in Wynberg, on Saturday\u00a0 at 12:20.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both teams are on a good run of form, with Wynberg winning six of their seven games so far this season, their only loss coming against <\/span>Paarl Gimnasium<\/b> (33-11).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bishops have also managed to go five from six, their only defeat came when they hosted <\/span>Paul Roos Gimnasium <\/b>(24-12).<\/span><\/p>\n

With both teams playing some exciting rugby this year, and the added animosity between the two sides after last year\u2019s drama, this is set to be an intense battle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bishops have just managed a historic victory against SACS last weekend, on the 150th anniversary of the oldest rivalry in South African rugby.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It will be interesting to see if they are inspired by their 31-25 win over their old foes, or if that battle has drained their energy somewhat.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s forecast to be another stormy weekend in the Cape, but one would expect both flyhalves to be adept at playing in these conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just five kilometres up the road another big clash will be taking place as <\/span>SACS<\/b> and <\/span>Rondebosch Boys\u2019 High <\/b>square off at the foot of Table Mountain on the SACS fields where oldboy <\/span>Percy Montgomery<\/b> would have been practising his kicking in the afternoons when he attended the prestigious school.<\/span><\/p>\n

The home team will be looking to bounce back after their heartbreaking loss to their oldest rivals last week.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rondebosch have been a difficult fixture for all their opponents so far this year, losing only to an in-form Durbanville High (35-19) and drawing against<\/span> Grey High School<\/b> (19-all).<\/span><\/p>\n

They will look to continue causing problems through their backline, allowing the likes of <\/span>Matthew Malherbe<\/b> (centre) and <\/span>Ethan Gordon<\/b> (winger) to score some more exciting tries, as they have been doing all season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Durbanville High School<\/b> have been playing exceptionally this year. <\/span>James Nero<\/b> (centre) and <\/span>Jayden Nell<\/b> (no. 8) have stood out as the Durbies have knocked over some big teams, most notably when they beat<\/span> Paarl Boys\u2019 High<\/b> 26-25 in March.<\/span><\/p>\n

They travel to Somerset West to meet Parel Vallei on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Parel Vallei<\/b> played well to get a draw against <\/span>Frikkie Meyer<\/b> on the final day of the <\/span>Rolyn Bergsig tournament <\/b>in Rustenburg recently, but they will need to raise their game considerably to survive the Durbies\u2019 onslaught in their match on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is action to the East as well, with <\/span>Montagu <\/b>making the drive to face <\/span>Point High School<\/b> in Mossel Bay and <\/span>Worcester Gim<\/b> hosting <\/span>Bellville High School<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n
