St Stithians College walked away victorious in the annual pink-day fixture against long standing rivals St John\u2019s College winning the match 31-19.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The two Joburg powerhouses have a rich history of playing against each other and the pink-day fixture has become a prominent feature in the two schools sporting calendars. <\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2016 the teams match up against each other and where all funds raised on the day go towards the PinkDrive an NGO focused on Breast Cancer Awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n

St Stithians scored two tries from their backline players, inside centre <\/span>Nthabeleng Mafole<\/b> and winger <\/span>Tinashwe Gweshe<\/b> each having a piece of the pie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finlay Holden<\/b>, <\/span>Vincent Miles<\/b> and <\/span>Reece Watson<\/b> all scored tries for St Johns but too many errors resulted in a large number of penalties being awarded to the host side.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saints number ten <\/span>Chris Anderson <\/b>had a good day in front of the poles, scoring 16 points from his placement kicks and capitalised on the opportunities presented.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

St Johns will need to wait until next year to have the opportunity to take home any sort of bragging rights when they put on their bright pink socks in this derby game again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

St Stithians will be playing up against St Alban\u2019s this coming weekend, who played in the St Stithians Easter Festival debut earlier this year. St Stithians will be going into the fixture as favourites.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next encounter for St Johns will be facing a high spirited Parktown Boys High who are fresh from their win against Northcliff High School where they won 38-25.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
