When these two teams met last year, Oakdale managed to scrape by with a 22-20 victory on the farm in Riversdale.<\/p>\n

With the home-ground advantage this year, the HTS Drostdy boys will hope to be able to topple Oakdale for the first time since 2017, when they won 24-13.<\/p>\n

The current Springbok Sevens star, Christie Grobbelaar<\/strong>, played for HTS Drostdy that year.<\/p>\n

Last weekend Oakdale looked strong against Paul Roos until their efforts came to nothing after a red card allowed their opponents to take control of the game and win by 27-15.<\/p>\n

If they can maintain their discipline this weekend they should be able to handle the hosts.<\/p>\n

HTS Drostdy should never be written off though, as they proved already this season by keeping Paarl Boys’ High within range, narrowly losing 13-6 earlier this season, and by beating Diamantveld 15-13 on their own home pitch at the Absa Wildeklawer Festival<\/strong> in Kimberley.<\/p>\n

Cayden Malgas<\/strong>, the home team’s fullback, is a live-wire and Darius Venter<\/strong> who moves to flanker from lock to cover for Matt Ramao<\/strong> has also been a standout player for the team from Worcester.<\/p>\n

For Oakdale, Waylon Kortjie<\/strong> (fullback), Therlow Prins<\/strong> (winger) and Devon Windvogel<\/strong> (prop) are some of the players to keep an eye on this weekend.<\/p>\n

Strand<\/strong> faces Parel Vallei<\/strong> without their centre, Gino Cupido<\/strong>, who is en route to Trinidad and Tobago where he will be competing at the Commonwealth Youth Games as part of the SA U18 Sevens<\/strong> squad.<\/p>\n
