Hattingh was especially good with ball in hand and made his presence known through some sheer physicality at the breakdowns.

He was well backed up by his colleagues Luann Schreuder and Adrian Labuschagne who both had solid outings.

At the back it was the speedster on the left wing, Tian Aucamp, who impressed with a remarkable display of running rugby and exceptional footwork as he kept the Zwarries defenders on their toes.

Zwartkop seemed like they finally found some of the rhythm they’ve been striving for as they looked renewed with a very good performance. Danilson Metcalfe was the pick of the Zwarries players crossing the whitewash once again to add yet another try to his already impressive tally in the season thus far.

Waldo Smit also contributed with a good performance from the kicking tee slotting a 54m penalty to keep his team in the hunt throughout most of the game, but it deemed not to be enough as Kempton managed to seal the deal in what can only be described as a very physical match between the two sides.

Rustenburg kept their unbeaten streak alive, beating Transvalia, on home soil in a nail bitter in Rustenburg.

The team from North West were pushed all the way by the men from Vander Bijl in very good contest between two quality sides, but managed to withstand the continuous pressure from Transvalia, claiming a victory of 25-21.

It was a titanic battle upfront with both packs being relentless on defence and at ruck time. At the back it didn’t seem any different as both backlines kept testing the others’ defence, but ultimately it proved to be Rustenburg’s that made the difference with it being the deciding factor at the end as they closed out a hard-fought victory.

HTS Middelburg bagged their first win of the campaign after beating Klerksdorp 33-22. The Rooibulle’s flyhalf, Zander Erasmus, was at the top of his game and managed to run in three tries and convert four of his team’s tries to contribute 23 points of his own to guide his side to a well-deserved victory.

Middelburg got back to winning ways after clinching a nail bitter against Montana in Middelburg.
