The\u00a0KZN Schools<\/strong>\u00a0cricket teams to fly the province\u2019s flag at inter-provincial tournaments around South Africa in December have been named.<\/p>\n The selections of the under-19 team to contest the Khaya Majola Week<\/strong> are remarkably evenly spread. Westville Boys\u2019 High<\/strong> has three players in the 13-man squad, while Kearsney College<\/strong>, Glenwood<\/strong>, Northwood<\/strong>, and Clifton College<\/strong> have two each, and DHS<\/strong> and Felixton<\/strong> one apiece. That\u2019s testimony to the fact that there has been no dominant team in KZN this season.<\/p>\n Nine of the players who were in the KZN Coastals under-16 team<\/strong> of 2021 have made the step up to the under-19 side, with the new additions being\u00a0Aryan Gopalan <\/strong>of Westville, Bayanda Majola\u00a0<\/strong>of DHS, Glenwood\u2019s\u00a0Ntando Soni\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Melusi Hadebe\u00a0<\/strong>of Felixton, who was part of the\u00a0KZN Coastal Rural\u00a0line-up two years ago, while\u00a0Nicandro Kistna <\/strong>of Westville, who was in that u16 team, is a member of the KZN Schools under-17 side.<\/p>\n KZN will be hopeful that the influential SA under-19 all-rounder\u00a0Romashan Pillay<\/strong> is fully fit for the event. He\u2019s missed a lot of time this term due to injury.<\/p>\n In looking at the under-17 and under-16 age group teams, what is interesting is to see how many of those players have produced at 1st XI level this season.
