\"\"The Border team for the 2023 Coca-Cola Khaya Majola<\/strong> Cricket Week<\/strong> has been named, with only three players returning from last year’s group. Thus, it will be a youthful squad representing the region at the prestigious event, which takes place in Makhanda from the 16th to the 20th of December.<\/p>\n

Tr\u00e9 Gilbert<\/strong> and Ben van der Merwe<\/strong> from Selborne College<\/strong> will form the core of the group’s leadership as the most experienced campaigners, along with Queen’s College<\/strong>‘s talisman, Ryan Denston<\/strong>, who was also in the 2022 team.<\/p>\n

The trio’s performances at that 2022 week subsequently secured them places at the CSA Cubs Week<\/strong> as part of the Eastern Warriors<\/strong> squad.<\/p>\n

Jacques van der Merwe<\/strong>, Adam Rogers<\/strong> and Waeden Plaatjes<\/strong> graduate from the Border u16 team of last year to join the other two Selbornians in the u19 line-up this year, which gives the East London school the largest contingent in the squad.<\/p>\n

Hudson Park<\/strong> has four players who cracked the nod, with Chulumanco Macozoma<\/strong>, Osiphesona Mbekwa<\/strong> and Lithemba Nomoyi<\/strong>\u00a0receiving a call-up.<\/p>\n

The exciting prospect from Queen’s College, Bevaneo Maytham<\/strong>, joins Denston as the only other player in the squad from the pride of Queenstown, while Hlumelo Ntola<\/strong> represents Dale College<\/strong>,\u00a0Amahle Masiko<\/strong> gets the nod out of Sakhisizwe High School<\/strong>\u00a0and Stirling<\/strong>‘s Chad Evans<\/strong> completes the lineup.<\/p>\n
