Ho\u00ebrskool Garsfontein bagged the narrowest of victories in their opening match of this year’s Jubilee League<\/strong> against Ho\u00ebrskool Waterkloof. Garsies coming out on top by 30-29 on their home turf.<\/p>\n

What made the victory even more impressive is that Waterkloof had their two star players Shiane Fouch\u00e9<\/strong> and Luan\u00e9 Smith<\/strong> back who missed this year’s Absa Wildeklawer<\/strong> tournament due to their participation for South Africa’s Fast 5-team at the Junior Commonwealth Games in Trinidad and Tobago.<\/p>\n

After the first quarter the scoreboard was locked at 7-all. Garsies managed to build up a lead at half-time with the scoreline reading 15-12 in their favour. Klofies managed to close the gap to a single goal at the end of the third quarter (23-22).<\/p>\n

For Garsfontein their centre, Marin\u00e9 Lourens<\/strong>, was superb. She will be representing one of the Gauteng teams later this year at the All Ages tournament. Kristen Boshoff<\/strong> (attacking wing) and Chanique Eyberg<\/strong> (goal defence) also played exceptionally well.<\/p>\n

So far three fixtures has been completed in the Jubilee League.<\/p>\n

Eldoraigne and Oos-Moot went head-head with the former walking away as victors with a score of 32-17.<\/p>\n

Menlopark won against Montana by 32-25.<\/p>\n

The match between Afrikaans Ho\u00ebr Meisieskool and Montana was supposed to take place on the 5th of May, but it has been postponed until the 22nd of May 22.<\/p>\n
