\"\"The Western Province u18 A side scored five goals in the first two chukkers against their second-string side which saw them register an emphatic 7-1 win on day of the u18 SASHOC National event in Bloemfontein on Monday.<\/p>\n

Coming into the tournament as one of the sides to watch, the team totally dominated their Provincial counterparts, clearly showing the difference between an A and second-best team.<\/p>\n

The side, coached by the experienced Bryce West opened the scoring as early as the second minute, when Ethan Lee found himself in a good position, and scored a well-worked field goal to kick things off for his side.<\/p>\n

The goals would follow in quick succession after the opener.<\/p>\n

A total of four goals followed soon after, coupled with a hat-trick from captain, Michael Cowen<\/strong>, who scored some outrageous goals, which will definitely contend for goals of the tournament.<\/p>\n

The skipper scored two field goals and one penalty corner, adding to his tally the contribution he had yesterday when the side defeated Northern Gauteng (3-2).<\/p>\n

Other players who got on the score sheet include Dean Carrick, Nathan Msakiwe, while James Grieve slotted in a penalty corner with seven minutes to play.<\/p>\n

Try as they may, the Western Province B side just couldn\u2019t get assert themselves into the game and managed a solitary goal through Ray Bonnet.<\/p>\n

In other matches on the day, Southern Gauteng A continued on their good form by beating hosts Southern Free State (5-1). Ben van der Merwe scored twice as Amathole came back to salvage a draw against the Northern Gauteng side.<\/p>\n

In the final match of the day, KZN Inland A, coached by Damian Kimfley hung on for a close (4-3) against their provincial brothers, the KZN Inland B side.<\/p>\n
