{"id":29930,"date":"2023-11-08T11:10:48","date_gmt":"2023-11-08T09:10:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/watersports.supersportschools.com\/?p=1128"},"modified":"2023-11-08T11:10:48","modified_gmt":"2023-11-08T09:10:48","slug":"province-favourites-as-teams-roll-out-squads-for-ipt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=29930","title":{"rendered":"Province favourites as teams roll out squads for IPT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1136 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/water-polo-sacs-081123-300x263.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"350\" \/>The <strong>Western Province<\/strong> U19 team will go into this year\u2019s <strong>Water Polo Inter-provincial Tournament (IPT) <\/strong>as the favourites to win the title when the showpiece commences next month at <strong>Grey High School<\/strong> in Gqeberha.<\/p>\n<p>Their fierce rivals, <strong>Gauteng <\/strong>and <strong>KwaZulu-Natal<\/strong>, have also named strong sides for the spectacle, raising excitement about the forthcoming matchups which will bring together the most exciting talent in the school ranks in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>South African College High School<\/strong> (SACS) from Cape Town dominates the Western Province A-Team. They have six players in the line-up whose superb form helped SACS capture a hat-trick of prestigious titles in the latter part of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Much will be expected of one of their standard-setters, <strong>Nicholas Fall<\/strong>, who has been a terror in front of goal for the Cape Town school.<\/p>\n<p>He picked up the<strong> Forward of the Tournament <\/strong>accolade in last month&#8217;s <strong>St Stithians Water Polo Invitational, <\/strong>after leading his side to a 7-6 win over St John&#8217;s College in the final.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the SACS representatives are <strong>Noah Bigara<\/strong>, <strong>Thomas Wiltshire<\/strong>, <strong>Zack Cicero<\/strong>, <strong>Richard Skeeles<\/strong>, and <strong>Conor Melling-Williams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Roos<\/strong>, the second-best team in the Western Cape, with a legitimate claim to being number two in South Africa, also, have four players &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Adam October, Maximilian Mossop, Johannes Reyneke, and Arkin Marais <\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0who will make the trip to Gqeberha.<\/p>\n<p>Twice during the end of year action, they were edged out by SACS for big titles. At the <strong>Clifton Water Polo Tournament<\/strong>, SACS won the final 7-6, and then, at the <strong>Hussar Grill SACS Water Polo Tournament<\/strong>, the hosts claimed a 6-3 win to secure the silverware.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rondebosch<\/strong> <strong>Boys&#8217; High<\/strong> contributes three players to the squad &#8211; <strong>David van Zyl<\/strong>, <strong>Ethan Klerck<\/strong> and <strong>Ben Reiback<\/strong> &#8211; while the remaining place goes to goalkeeper <strong>Jordan De Sousa<\/strong> of <strong>Bishops<\/strong>, who was named in the Team of the Tournament at the Saints Water Polo Invitational.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Roos dominates the Province B team, with five of their players in the line-up.
