\"\"The\u00a0Central Gauteng Lions<\/strong>\u00a0stamped their authority on day two of the\u00a0CSA 2023 u16 Boys Week<\/strong>, trouncing\u00a0Boland<\/strong>\u00a0after a dominant performance on the NMU Fields in George.<\/p>\n

Both teams from KwaZulu-Natal remained unbeaten as well, setting up an exciting final group stage encounter between Gauteng and the\u00a0KZN Inland<\/strong>\u00a0boys to determine which side will top their pool before the T20 playoffs begin.<\/p>\n

Early on,\u00a0Armaan Manack<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Rushil Bhulla<\/strong>\u00a0took the sting out of the Boland bowling attack with two solid innings to get the Lions into a good position, with\u00a0Bhulla missing his half-century by a mere three runs after smashing six boundaries in a 92-ball stay.<\/p>\n

The Lions\u2019 total was bolstered further by\u00a0Tahseen Hanslo<\/strong>\u2018s 39, before he was impressively run out by\u00a0Owethu Moyi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Neil Barnard<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Zayd Abrahams<\/strong>\u00a0snared three wickets apiece for Boland, but not before the boys from Gauteng had posted an imposing 225.<\/p>\n

Corn\u00e9 Botha<\/strong>\u00a0continued his fine bowling form from the first day, capturing 3\/13. He combined well with\u00a0Alec Loveland<\/strong>, who claimed two sticks, as the Boland line-up struggled to find a footing.<\/p>\n

Boland Landbou\u2019s\u00a0Francois Prins<\/strong>\u00a0played a fine innings of 54 in the face of a relentless bowling onslaught, but his team\u2019s chase was ended, still 82 runs shy of the mark.<\/p>\n

For the\u00a0KZN Coastal<\/strong>\u00a0team,\u00a0Roxton Payne<\/strong>\u00a0delivered with bat and ball to get his team over the line against the\u00a0Titans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Apart from contributing an unbeaten 27 at the crease, he also took a vital three wickets at a cost of only 10 runs.<\/p>\n

Joshua van Biljon<\/strong>\u00a0led the way with the bat for the victors, storming to 42 runs after a slow start by his side.<\/p>\n

Following a solid win in their first match on the opening day, the\u00a0Garden Route Badgers<\/strong>\u00a0went down to\u00a0Northern Cape<\/strong>\u00a0after\u00a0Hanru Rademeyer<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Faizan Kajee<\/strong>\u00a0turned the game for the visitors.<\/p>\n

When the Badgers removed the first four Northern Cape batsmen for only 15 runs, it looked as if they might be able to defend their low total of 119, but Rademeyer\u2019s 64 from 36 deliveries, which included eight sixes, quickly swung the momentum. With Kajee also contributing a confident unbeaten knock of 28 from 51, Northern Cape reached their target in just over 22 overs.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Nicholas Baker<\/strong>\u00a0removed five\u00a0Free State<\/strong>\u00a0batsmen for a mere 36 runs as the\u00a0KZN Inland<\/strong>\u00a0squad laid claim to the top spot in their pool.<\/p>\n

The showdown with Gauteng promises to be a highlight of day three, while Boland and the Free State also lock horns in a game that has the makings of a good contest.<\/p>\n
