{"id":33671,"date":"2024-01-28T14:52:39","date_gmt":"2024-01-28T12:52:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=33671"},"modified":"2024-01-28T14:52:39","modified_gmt":"2024-01-28T12:52:39","slug":"day-4-herschel-triumphs-in-brian-baker-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=33671","title":{"rendered":"DAY 4| Herschel triumphs in Brian Baker final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-33681\" src=\"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/water-polo-brian-baker-280124-400x280.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"280\" \/>New champions were crowned at the 2024 <strong>Brian Baker<\/strong> Water Polo Tournament when <strong>Herschel Girls<\/strong> defeated <strong>Reddam House Constantia<\/strong> 14-11 in the final to claim top honours and the bragging rights in Makhanda on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>While the sides battled it out at the <strong>Kingswood College<\/strong> pool, <strong>SACS<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Bishops<\/strong> were also in action in the final of the <strong>SAC Shield,<\/strong> a few kilometres away at St Andrew&#8217;s College.<\/p>\n<p>Herschel\u2019s focus, however, was entirely on their final as they took the fight to Reddam in the opening exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>There was little to separate the two after the first half, with Herschel taking a slender 5-4 lead into the dugout.<\/p>\n<p>In the final two chukkas, however, the girls from Claremont turned up the heat. With one to go, they led by two goals.<\/p>\n<p>That advantage was extended by a further goal in the final chukka.
