{"id":33727,"date":"2024-01-30T16:49:31","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T14:49:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=33727"},"modified":"2024-01-30T16:49:31","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T14:49:31","slug":"athletics-gauteng-norths-track-and-field-league-2-girls-and-womens-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=33727","title":{"rendered":"Athletics Gauteng North&#8217;s Track and Field League 2 girls&#8217; and women&#8217;s results"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_33728\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33728\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-33728 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/AGN-400x320.jpg\" alt=\"Photo: Frans Lombard\/Actionpix\" width=\"400\" height=\"320\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-33728\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">PHOTO: Frans Lombard\/Actionpix<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Tuks Academy<\/strong>&#8216;s athletes impressed with their consistency, securing many first place and top three positions at <strong>Athletics Gauteng North&#8217;s Track and Field League 2<\/strong> event, held at the <strong>Pilditch Stadium<\/strong> on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>In the girls&#8217; u16 100m category, <strong>Fundiswa Makhanya<\/strong> (Tuks Academy) claimed victory in an impressive time of 12.98s, closely followed by <strong>Diane Dippenaar<\/strong> (<strong>Menlopark HS<\/strong>) in 13.01s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phiwe Nhleko<\/strong> (Tuks Academy) took the honours in the women&#8217;s u20 100m event, clocking 12.31s, with <strong>Atang Naane<\/strong> (Prestige College) second in 12.45s, followed by <strong>Rujeko Smunetsi<\/strong> (<strong>Elite Sprints Training<\/strong>), who was third in 12.62s.<\/p>\n<p>Fundiswa Makhanya continued her dominance of the sprints in the girls&#8217; u16 200m, halting the stopwatch in an impressive 26.22s. <strong>An\u00e9 Pretorius<\/strong> (Menlopark) and <strong>Aquina de Vries<\/strong> (<strong>Midstream AC<\/strong>) secured the second and third positions, with times of 26.63s and 26.80s, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lolwethu Makasi<\/strong> (<strong>I Have Talent AC<\/strong>) powered to victory in the women&#8217;s u18 200m, crossing the line in 25.77s, comfortably ahead of <strong>Selena Rocha<\/strong> (Tuks Academy), who captured second place in 26.40s.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s u20 200m, <strong>Diana Eze<\/strong> (<strong>32GI<\/strong>), showcased her speed and secured the top spot in a time of 25.06s.<\/p>\n<p>Gold in the women&#8217;s u18 400m went to <strong>Izel de Beer<\/strong> (Menlopark HS). She finished in 1:00.79, with second-placed <strong>Lente Groenewald<\/strong> (Midstream AC) clocking 1:01.14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lu Chelle Breedt<\/strong> (<strong>Boxer<\/strong>) put in a strong performance to claim the women&#8217;s u20 400m win in 58.21s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carmia van den Berg<\/strong> (Midstream AC) dominated the girls&#8217; u16 800m, winning the two-lap race in 2:24.50.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the women&#8217;s u18 800m title went to <strong>Angel Baloyi<\/strong> (Tuks Academy), who took victory in 2:23.64. She was closely followed across the line by her team-mate, <strong>Micaela Swart<\/strong>, who clocked 2:23.79.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minke Dekker<\/strong> (Boxer) impressed in the girls&#8217; u16 1 500m, winning in 4:32.82, which was better than anyone achieved in the older age groups.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elizma le Roux<\/strong> (<strong>Zwartkop AC<\/strong>) claimed the top spot in the women&#8217;s u18 1 500m in a time of 04:42.98, while <strong>Emma Kruse<\/strong> (<strong>Country Club Johannesburg<\/strong>) bagged the women&#8217;s u20 1 500m title in 04:35.14.<\/p>\n<p>Swazi athlete\u00a0<strong>Nokwethu Nhlabatsi<\/strong> sparkled in the girls&#8217; u16 3 000m, breaking the tape in 11:28.65.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s u18 3 000m, <strong>Diphetogo Semenya<\/strong> (Tuks Academy) powered her way to first place in 10:32.81.<\/p>\n<p>Victory in the u16 90m hurdles went to <strong>Janelle Kirkpatrick<\/strong> (Menlopark HS) in 13.31s, while <strong>Ruv\u00e8 van der Ende<\/strong> (Menlopark HS), was second in 14.14s.<\/p>\n<p>The u20 100m hurdles win went to <strong>Angelique de Jager<\/strong> (Tuks Academy) in 14.49s, with <strong>Anika le Roux<\/strong> (<strong>Midstream College<\/strong>) the runner-up in 15.38s.<\/p>\n<p>In the girls&#8217; u16 300m hurdles, <strong>Lin\u00e9 de Villiers<\/strong> (Menlopark HS) took the win in 44.92s, well clear of <strong>Len\u00e9 Greyling<\/strong> (Midstream College), who finished in 47.98s.<\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s u20 400m hurdles title went to <strong>Anika Williams<\/strong> (Zwartkop AC) in 1:04.02.<\/p>\n<p>There were some impressive performances in the shot put, discus, and javelin across the different age groups.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Johanne Lamprecht<\/strong> (<strong>Montana AC<\/strong>) dominated the girls&#8217; u16 shotput, winning with a distance of 15.04m. She also added the discus title to her shotput success, recording a best of 39.10m.<\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s u18 title went to <strong>Jeandr\u00e9 Jacobs<\/strong> (<strong>Eldoraigne AC<\/strong>). Her best distance measured 14.55m.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s u20 shotput, <strong>Alicia Khunou<\/strong> (Menlopark HS) put the shot 14.63m to take the win.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christ\u00e9 Loedolff<\/strong> (Menlopark) posted an impressive distance of 44.72m to win the women&#8217;s u18 discus.<\/p>\n<p>Alicia Khunou doubled up on her success by winning the women&#8217;s u20 discus with an impressive throw of 53.10m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Allene Theunissen<\/strong> (<strong>Garsfontein<\/strong>) launched the javelin 39.98m to win girls&#8217; u16 gold.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tuks Academy&#8216;s athletes impressed with their consistency, securing many first place and top three positions at Athletics Gauteng North&#8217;s Track and Field League 2 event, held at the Pilditch Stadium on Saturday.
