Wynberg Boys’ High<\/strong> wrapped up their weekend in Gqeberha in style with two wins on the trot against Grey High School<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the hosts experienced early success through Likhona Gcora<\/strong>‘s bowling, but James’ 107-run stay wrestled away control of the game for Wynberg.<\/p>\n

James backed up that performance on Sunday, in a T20, weighing in with another solid knock of 71 runs from 43 deliveries after earlier leading the Wynberg bowlers with a return of 3\/4 from two overs as Grey was bowled out for 131.<\/p>\n

Michail Tarentaal<\/strong> contributed a well-played 47 in Saturday’s match before Grey’s Xander Elkington <\/strong>sent him packing, tantalisingly close to a half-century.<\/p>\n

After the Cape Town school had posted 261 all out, Divan Linde<\/strong> (3\/8) and Luke Kleinsmith<\/strong> (2\/16) inflicted damage on the hosts’ attempts at a fightback, which was stopped short on 162, despite a battling 71 from Kian Cambier.<\/p>\n

Elkington stood out for Grey again on Sunday, removing both Wynberg openers, but it was too little, too late as Beni Hansen<\/strong> (19*) and Divan Linde<\/strong> (17*) saw the touring side to a comfortable win.<\/p>\n

Wynberg will hope to take the momentum they built up on their tour of Gqeberha into their showdown with high-flying Rondebosch Boys’ High next Saturday.<\/p>\n

Grey High travels to Bloemfontein to renew their long-standing rivalry with their namesakes, Grey College.<\/p>\n
