\"\"St Andrew’s College<\/strong> witnessed a tour de force performance from Laurie Apps<\/strong> on Saturday, as he dismantled the Queen’s College<\/strong> batting lineup with finesse, capturing seven wickets to propel his side to a commanding six-wicket win in Komani.<\/p>\n

Joe Wostenholm<\/strong> drew first blood for the visitors, with Apps palming a catch to be involved in that dismissal, too.<\/p>\n

Ryan Denston<\/strong> (45) and Ross Fitzhenry<\/strong> (39) then offered some resistance for Queen’s, but after Alastair de Kock<\/strong> claimed Denston’s wicket in the 20th over, the match turned into the Apps’ show.<\/p>\n

He sliced through the remaining batsmen to end the hosts’ innings on 139. Apps’ eight-over super-spell included two maidens and came at a cost of only 19 runs.<\/p>\n

Vijay George<\/strong> gave the home team some hope by knocking over two batsmen early in the St Andrew’s innings, but a half-century by Murray Wilson<\/strong> and an undefeated 42 from Myles Sansom<\/strong> saw the visitors over the line in the 28th over.<\/p>\n

Saints will seek to carry their winning momentum into their next match against Selborne College<\/strong> next weekend.<\/p>\n

Selborne are also coming off a winning performance after a Tr\u00e9 Gilbert<\/strong> century saw them to a narrow one-wicket victory over Graeme College<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The weekend, however, belonged to the bowlers in the Eastern Cape. Murray Tyson<\/strong> grabbed a five-for for Graeme, and Matt Loon<\/strong> returned figures of 5\/23 for Kingswood College against Woodridge College.<\/p>\n

Kingswood won that match comfortably by five wickets despite a fine innings by Jaydin Damons<\/strong>, who scored 91 out of his team’s 165 runs.<\/p>\n

Pearson<\/strong>‘s Esa Gangat<\/strong> stole the spotlight once again, taking a combined total of 10\/35 over two innings, as he laid waste to the Daniel Pienaar<\/strong> lineup.<\/p>\n

Gangat led his team from the front, snaring six wickets in the first innings, before driving Pearson to an imposing 220\/6 alongside Cayden Wilson. <\/strong>He then added four more wickets as Pearson overpowered Daniel Pienaar.<\/p>\n
