In an astonishing spell, he sent four Jeppe batsmen back to the pavilion at a cost of only six runs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jorich van Schalkwyk<\/strong> also impressed, snaring 2\/12, while further good support came from <strong>Petrus Rautenbach<\/strong> (2\/28) and <strong>Armin Snyman<\/strong> (2\/29).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryan Young<\/strong> showed his class at the top of the order for Jeppe, making a mature 51 from 83 deliveries, while <strong>Jeremiah Marshall<\/strong> contributed a gutsy 40 runs as the Joburg boys grinded their way to 142 all out.<\/p>\n<p>When Affies replied, Jeppe&#8217;s South African u19 representative, <strong>Sipho Potsane<\/strong>, was the only bowler who looked threatening, claiming a solitary wicket while conceding 26 runs.<\/p>\n<p>De Villiers then stamped his authority on the match even further, backing up his good bowling performance, with an unbeaten 56 from 65 balls. <strong>Vihan Pretorius<\/strong> continued his good form, with 36, while <strong>Janco Purchase<\/strong>&#8216;s unbeaten 22 put the finishing touches on a comfortable win for the Pretoria side.<\/p>\n<p>On the John Hurry Oval,<strong> King Edward VII School<\/strong> made life difficult for themselves, chasing 148 for victory over <strong>Pretoria Boys High<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Callum Ritchie <\/strong>led the KES efforts in the field, knocking over 4\/28, while <strong>Christiaan Sabela<\/strong> (2\/11) and <strong>Michael Holmes<\/strong> (2\/27) shared four wickets as Boys High failed to get on top of the bowling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adam Cannata<\/strong> top scored with a fighting 42 from 68 deliveries, but he was the only batsman who looked comfortable at the crease. <strong>Grant Spencer<\/strong> provided a gritty 24, but the KES bowlers had Boys High&#8217;s number.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nick Rossouw<\/strong> gave PBHS some hope of a valiant fightback when he took three early wickets, but\u00a0<strong>Michael Holmes <\/strong>took charge of the KES innings, with his 45 giving it the momentum it needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Troy Gordon<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Kwezi Nyamathe<\/strong> contributed of 29 runs apiece, which helped the home side over the line with three wickets to spare.<\/p>\n<p><strong>St John&#8217;s College<\/strong> welcomed <strong>St Alban&#8217;s<\/strong> to Mitchell Field, but they were ruthless in executing a big 113-run victory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joe MacRobert<\/strong> was the stand-out batsman for St John&#8217;s College, with the skipper striking 69 runs from 71 balls. The impressive <strong>Nkosana Sibiya<\/strong> (50, 68b) notched up another half-century, while <strong>Alec Loveland<\/strong> (49, 62b) missed out on his by just one run.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oliver Tait<\/strong> was the pick of the St John&#8217;s bowlers, claiming three scalps for 23 runs. He found good support from <strong>Loveland<\/strong>, who backed up his fine performance with the bat with a return of 2\/15. Malan du Plessis, who took the new ball, captured 2\/23.<\/p>\n<p>For St Alban&#8217;s, however, there wasn&#8217;t much to write home about as they struggled with both bat and ball.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liam Basch<\/strong> was the Pretoria side&#8217;s mainstay with the ball picking up 2\/39, while <strong>Matthew Ward, <\/strong>with 36, was the sole St Alban&#8217;s batsman to make it beyond 20 as the visitors stumbled to a disappointing 122\/8 in their 50 overs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summarised scorecards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeppe 142\/10<\/strong> (Ryan Young 51, Jeremiah Marshall 40; Divan de Villiers 4\/6, Jorich van Schalkwyk 2\/12, Petrus Rautenbach 2\/28, Armin Snyman 2\/29); <strong>Affies 146\/3<\/strong> (Divan de Villiers 56*, Vihan Pretorius 36, Janco Purchase 22*; Sipho Potsane 1\/26).
