They had come close in their opener, playing to a 17-17 draw with <strong>Kingswood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>St John&#8217;s dominated the set pieces and made good use of the scrums and lineouts to set up a solid platform from which their dangerous backline could attack.<\/p>\n<p>Flyhalf <strong>Joe MacRobert<\/strong> played the role of general exceptionally well, dictating play in a cool and calm manner. This allowed Watson to run freely among the backs and create mismatches.<\/p>\n<p>Loosehead prop <strong>Joshua Shannon<\/strong> produced a third consecutive impressive display, hammering Falcon with his robust runs. His high work rate was also rewarded with a try.<\/p>\n<p>Falcon&#8217;s fullback, <strong>Tafadzwa Tigere<\/strong>, had his kicking boots on, knocking over three penalties and slotting a conversion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kingswood College&#8217;s<\/strong> lock, <strong>Josh Mackenzie<\/strong>, crossed the whitewash twice in his side&#8217;s 35-10 victory over St David&#8217;s Marist Inanda. His twin, <strong>James Mackenzie<\/strong>, converted the second of his brother&#8217;s tries and also added the extras to lock Sipho Nonyalela&#8217;s five-pointer.<\/p>\n<p>The Kingswood backline delivered a warning to their future opponents &#8211; don&#8217;t give them space to run, which inside the centre <strong>Munangi Kamwendo<\/strong> demonstrated by ripping through the St David&#8217;s midfield to run it in from his own 22-metre line, to open their scoring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scorers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>St John&#8217;s College 38 (19)<\/strong> &#8211; Tries: Kyle Watson (3), Thomas Kruger, Joshua Shannon, Jacob Smith.
