SACS, meanwhile, topped that, netting six goals against <strong>Fairmont High School<\/strong>, away from home.<\/p>\n<p>Entering their clash against Outeniqua, Gim, led by coach <strong>Jacques Grobler,<\/strong> was high in confidence after winning the <a href=\"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/day-4-boys-paarl-gim-remains-the-undisputed-belgotex-champion\/\"><strong>Belgotex Sport Easter Hockey Tournament<\/strong> <\/a>the week before by defeating <strong>Worcester Gimnasium<\/strong> 2-1 in the final. It was their third title on the trot in the event.<\/p>\n<p>They came off their blocks fast against Outeniqua, with <strong>Willem Matthee <\/strong>getting them on the board.<\/p>\n<p>Gim&#8217;s skipper, <strong>LD Nel<\/strong>, who was recognised as one of the standout players at the Belgotex Tournament, where he topped the goal scorers&#8217; charts, continued his prolific goalscoring form, slotting a hattrick, before <strong>Neil de Wet&#8217;<\/strong>s solitary goal sealed a 5-1 win for the Paarl side.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Grobler&#8217;s charges will take their talents further afield over the course of the next two weekends, first facing <strong>Affies<\/strong> in Pretoria, before travelling to Bloemfontein to take on <strong>Grey College<\/strong> the week after that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SACS<\/strong> were expected to beat Fairmont High School and they duly delivered, knocking in six goals to add another convincing win to an ever-expanding list of impressive one-sided victories.<\/p>\n<p>Right-wing <strong>Matthew Jones<\/strong> scored a brace while <strong>Nick Paxton<\/strong>, <strong>Matthew Lassen<\/strong>, <strong>Aiden Hughes<\/strong>, and the dangerous <strong>Litha Kraai <\/strong>also got their names onto the scoresheet.<\/p>\n<p>Coach<strong> Sam Holmes<\/strong> will now prepare his side for their next assignment, which is <strong>Parel Vallei<\/strong> next weekend at home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wynberg<\/strong>, under coach <strong>Ben Wiley<\/strong>,\u00a0got their Western Cape season off to a confidence-boosting 5-1 win over Curro Durbanville.<\/p>\n<p>They dominated ball possession and the match. <strong>Dayle Gertson<\/strong> was instrumental in Wynberg&#8217;s win, scoring four times, before <strong>Ethan Lee <\/strong>made it five in total for the southern suburbs&#8217; side<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In other matches, Worcester Gimnasium also claimed a win, handing Swartland a 0-2 loss, with <strong>Lourens de Kock<\/strong> and <strong>Christiaan Joubert <\/strong>scoring.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_40664\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40664\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-40664\" src=\"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Stellenberg-400x328.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"328\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-40664\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Stellenberg High School<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Stellenberg High<\/strong> came close to pulling off an upset when they held <strong>Rondebosch Boys&#8217; High<\/strong> to a 2-2 draw.<\/p>\n<p>Playing at home, Stellenberg drew strength from the enthusiastic backing of their home crowd.
