Three of the Kearsney College under-15 boys – Itumelang Khubeka, Ayanda Khanye and Lubanzi Mseleku – have donned the KwaZulu-Natal Basketball colours in the recently concluded national competition.<\/p>\n
The trio played an integral part in the KZN side reaching the final of the competition despite falling short against a skillful Gauteng outfit.<\/p>\n
Kearsney College under-15 coach, Mfanafuthi Gwava, told SuperSport Schools Plus that the three youngsters are dedicated and deserving of their provincial call-ups.<\/p>\n
“They are always at the courts,” said Gwava. “These boys are dedicated and want to play the right way.”<\/p>\n
For any school coach, playing a part in players’ development and seeing them being rewarded for their dedication and effort is a proud moment.<\/p>\n
It is not different in Gwava’s case who is not only proud of this new crop of talent but also the impact of their basketball programmes at Kearsney College.<\/p>\n
“As a coach, you will be proud when you see players being rewarded for their hard work,” Gwava reiterated. “These three boys have shown that our program is the best.” he added.<\/p>\n
Mseleku, who plays as a power forward, and Khanye who plays as a small forward have both been roped into the national under-15 squad.<\/p>\n
