Verlede week was gevul met opwindende netbalaksie, met spanne van die Noord-Kaap en Vrystaat-streke wat mekaar die stryd aanges\u00ea het. Onder die spanne wat uitgeblink het was Oranje Meisieskool, Ho\u00ebrskool Goudveld, Ho\u00ebrskool Diamantveld en Eunice High School.<\/p>\n
Die aksiebelaaide week het afgeskop met ‘n ontmoeting tussen Diamantveld en Fichardtpark op Woensdag, 24 April, as deel van die Wesgrow Sentrale Sportreeks.<\/p>\n
Dit het \u2018n klipharde stryd afgegee met die spanne wat na die die eerste kwart gelykop getrek het met 6-6. Diamantveld het egter stelselmatig die botoon begin voer om teen halftyd met 13-11 voor te loop en, ten spyte van Fichies se dapper pogings, uiteindelik met 39-22 as oorwinnaars uit die stryd te tree.<\/p>\n
Op Saterdag, 27 April, ook as deel van die Wesgrow Sentrale Sportreeks, het Goudveld en Trio mekaar gepak. Gouties het het teen rustyd aan ‘n skrale voorsprong van 14-13 vasgeklou, en, ten spyte van Trio se geesdriftige pogings om die telling in hul guns te swaai, met 26-23 gese\u00ebvier.<\/p>\n
Op Donderdag, 25 April, het nog ‘n opwindende stryd tussen Oranje en Jim Fouch\u00e9 plaasgevind. Oranje het in die eerste en tweede kwart \u2018n skrale voorsprong van onderskeidelik een en twee doele gehad, maar kon in die laaste twee kwarte die gaping vergroot om uiteindelik vir JF met 38-27 te verslaan.<\/p>\n
Eunice het ook hul stempel afgedruk met twee opeenvolgende oorwinnings. In hul kragmeting met Louis Botha het Eunice ‘n klinkende sege van 33-8 behaal, waarna hulle hul segetog voortgesit het in Oos-Londen deur vir Clarendon met 58-23 te oorrompel.<\/p>\n
