{"id":43884,"date":"2024-05-03T10:27:06","date_gmt":"2024-05-03T08:27:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=43884"},"modified":"2024-05-03T10:27:06","modified_gmt":"2024-05-03T08:27:06","slug":"southern-suburbs-set-for-scintillating-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=43884","title":{"rendered":"Southern suburbs set for scintillating action"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_43913\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-43913\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-43913\" src=\"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Warwick-Richter-Bishops-vs-Wynberg-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-43913\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Warwick Richter<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The southern suburbs have an exciting derby weekend to look forward to, with <strong>Bishops Diocesan College<\/strong> visiting <strong>SACS<\/strong> on the Memorial Field, while <strong>Wynberg Boys&#8217; High<\/strong> will seek to keep their incredible run of results going when they host <strong>Rondebosch Boys&#8217; High<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Catch all the action live on <strong>SuperSport Schools &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/supersportschools\">Register now<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wynberg Boys&#8217; High are yet to taste defeat this season and they&#8217;ll be eager to continue on the winning path when they tackle their rivals from Rondebosch.<\/p>\n<p>They convincingly dealt with Bishops last weekend, beating them 35-8 away from home, to kickstart their peninsular campaign.<\/p>\n<p>With dangermen like the big lock, <strong>Jaythen Orange<\/strong>, and their star flyhalf, <strong>Yaqeen Ahmed<\/strong>, enjoying a great run of form, the hosts are set up well to avenge their two losses to &#8216;Bosch last season.<\/p>\n<p>Captain <strong>Aden da Costa <\/strong>and company are the favourites, with their season so far highlighted by a win over Paarl Boys&#8217; High in Paarl, but they&#8217;ll be aware that the Southern Suburb double-headers pay no attention to form.<\/p>\n<p>Both of last year&#8217;s matches produced fireworks, with Rondebosch winning the first 20-16, before sneaking a 21-20 victory in the second clash.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Bosch heads into Saturday&#8217;s showdown off the back of two big wins, 45-13 against Melkbosstrand and 55-22 against SACS, and they have shown they possess enough firepower to topple any team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dylan Miller<\/strong> has been spectacular at fullback, and no. 8 <strong>Collin Paul Kemp<\/strong>\u00a0has been just as destructive.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, SACS will seek to build on the potential they displayed against Paarl Gimnasium last weekend.
