Gqeberha – Jeppe High School for Boys<\/strong> flexed their muscles on the final day of The Grey Standard Bank Rugby Festival<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Winger Leruo Dithagiso<\/strong> spearheaded the Johannesburg outfit’s attack, unlocking the St Andrew’s defence twice, as they recorded their second victory of the week.<\/p>\n

Jeppe beat Graeme College 29-3 on the opening day and backed up that performance by outscoring St Andrew’s College 33-5 on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Matthew Coetzee<\/strong> stood out at flyhalf, crossing the try line for a five-pointer, too, and sending Dithagiso over for his second with a magnificent little pop to the inside.<\/p>\n

Jeppe’s other tries were scored by their captain, Khuthadzo Rasivhaga<\/strong>, and Bonga Nxumalo,<\/strong> while Coetzee punished the team from Makhanda with his accuracy off the kicking tee.<\/p>\n

It’s been a mixed season for the Jeppe boys so far, with some magnificent highs and one or two lows, but they’ve shown their class throughout and continue to impress week after week.<\/p>\n

St Andrew’s fought back hard in the second half, spurred on by the efforts of their courageous captain, Joe Wostenholm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Some big hits by the Jeppe boys inside their danger area were enough to keep Saints out for the most part, however, and they return home with two very impressive wins added to their 2024 record.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, St Charles College<\/strong> opened proceedings with a comprehensive 26-5 victory over Hudson Park<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The big lock, Raphael Ajibade<\/strong>, made his presence felt for the KZN squad with some powerful charges forward and Salmaan Mohammed<\/strong> stood out in the no. 15 jersey.<\/p>\n

Outside centre, Jacqyl Wright<\/strong>, scored a beautiful try to open the account for the boys from Buffalo City, but that was all they could muster.<\/p>\n

Brandwag<\/strong> found their rhythm late in their match against St Stithians<\/strong>, outscoring the Gauteng outfit 12-10 in the second stanza, thanks to scintillating scores by Keenan Kayster<\/strong> and Enzo Ketchim<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Saints, however, kept their cool and tries by captain Gabriel Hore<\/strong> and their big second rower, Keabetswe Mapukana<\/strong>, along with two three-pointers by their star winger, Joshua Meyer<\/strong>, secured the win.<\/p>\n
