Grey High<\/strong> avenged their shock defeat to Graeme College<\/strong> last year when they beat their old rivals by 29-7 in front of a lively assembly of supporters on the Kolisi Field<\/strong> on Saturday to close out the Standard Bank Grey High Rug<\/strong>by Festival<\/strong> in style.<\/p>\n

Jon Hobson<\/strong> was instrumental in their 33-15 victory over St John’s College on the opening day, scoring twice to help his side build valuable momentum ahead of Saturday’s grudge match.<\/p>\n

For the festival’s final game, he was moved back to hooker, but his immense contribution was undiminished. In fact, he crossed the Graeme try line four times behind the powerful Grey rolling maul.<\/p>\n

Graeme saved face through a try by Lebo Mahasele<\/strong> in the second half, but they were outgunned from the start as Hobson and his teammates decidedly put last year’s loss behind them.<\/p>\n

Grey dominated the lineouts and kept their discipline to open up a healthy 19-0 lead at the break, which they were able to defend in the second half.<\/p>\n

Westville Boys’ High<\/strong> completely outgunned Dale College<\/strong>, beating the team from Qonce 52-12.<\/p>\n

The Griffin<\/strong> dominated from the off and sped to a 40-7 lead by half-time.\"\"<\/p>\n

With their captain, Chris Cloete<\/strong>, spearheading the attack with three tries and vice-captain, Unathi Mlotshwa<\/strong>, contributing 17 points with a try and six conversions, Westville were never in trouble despite Dale’s fighting spirit.<\/p>\n

The Western Cape representatives, Ho\u00ebrskool Durbanville<\/strong>, ended their tour on a high with an impressive victory over Queen’s College<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Tobie Roelofse<\/strong> was instrumental for the Durbies, striking off the kicking tee for eight vital points.<\/p>\n

Roelofse’s penalty conversion early on, to open the scoring, would end up being the difference as the Capetonians outscored Queen’s 25-22.<\/p>\n

The Eastern Cape outfit’s scrumhalf, Ryan Denston<\/strong>, starred for his side, also kicking well off the tee.<\/p>\n

There was plenty of excitement provided by the wings, with Jameel Fleshman<\/strong> striking twice for Queen’s and Dale Martin<\/strong> doing the same for Durbanville.<\/p>\n
