\"\"Exhilarating and captivating action will be on the cards when African Grassroot Hoops<\/strong> and Under Armour SA<\/strong> join forces to host the 4th annual Youth Day Classic Basketball Tournament<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The action unfolds at the German International School<\/strong> in Cape Town on 15 and 16 June.<\/p>\n

The tournament is exclusively for boys and girls under the age of 19 and the champions will receive prestigious grand prizes from Under Armour.<\/p>\n

On both days, the action gets underway at 09:00 and continues through until 18:00.<\/p>\n

Teams from Botswana, Johannesburg, and KwaZulu-Natal<\/strong> will challenge local teams from Gugulethu<\/strong>, Langa<\/strong>, and Heideveld <\/strong>for the titles.<\/p>\n

African Grassroot Hoops and Under Armour SA will host the tournament in collaboration with the City of Cape Town<\/strong>, to honour Youth Day<\/strong>, which is celebrated annually on 16 June.<\/p>\n

African Grassroot Hoops, which calls Cape Town home, is focussed on promoting basketball in the greater Cape Town area while also leveraging the sport to develop young talent into future leaders.<\/p>\n

The organisation works to help children who play the game build relationships, make new friends, strive for positivity in life, and develop healthy and active lifestyles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“The programme allows players to have fun and learn the fundamentals of their skill level. You can enjoy watching your child put their new skills to the test while having fun and growing as a basketball player,” Vincent Ntuja<\/strong>, the Director of African Grassroot Hoops, said recently.<\/p>\n

“This tournament is about more than just basketball and also provides mentorship with motivational speakers and basketball experts,” Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith<\/strong> commented.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“The City of Cape Town is proud to be associated with an initiative aimed at developing young people for the future.<\/p>\n

“We would like to urge residents to show up in their numbers to create a vibrant atmosphere as the next generation of hoopers display their talent and athleticism.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
