{"id":51511,"date":"2024-06-30T12:42:24","date_gmt":"2024-06-30T10:42:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=51511"},"modified":"2024-06-30T12:42:24","modified_gmt":"2024-06-30T10:42:24","slug":"siphiwe-tshabalala-soccer-tournament-week-two-catch-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=51511","title":{"rendered":"Siphiwe Tshabalala Soccer Tournament week two catch-up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-51570\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Siphiwe-Tshabalala-Tournament-375x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/>Two weeks are already in the book, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/siphiwe-tshabalala-tournament-inspires-the-next-generation-of-football-stars\/\"><strong>Siphiwe Tshabalala Soccer Tournament&#8217;s 9th edition<\/strong> <\/a>continues on its way at the <strong>Kgotso Ground<\/strong> in <strong>Phiri, Soweto.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The tournament, which runs through the winter schools&#8217; season, is approaching its knockout stages.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, there were some significant results achieved, with <strong>Orlando Preston Brothers<\/strong> stealing the show by handing <strong>Pimville Young Stars FC <\/strong>a 5-0 defeat.<\/p>\n<p>In another exciting game, <strong>Mike Stars<\/strong> and <strong>MSDA FC <\/strong>did battle.<\/p>\n<p>In the early going, most of the action was confined to the midfield.\u00a0Mike Stars FC, though, broke through after a counterattack, led by <strong>Msizi Moleboloa,<\/strong> who finished well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Atlehang Ngu<\/strong> missed a clear-cut opportunity to extend the lead, but Mike Stars continued to dominate the match, playing a lot of the game deep inside the MSDA half, which also brought them a number of set pieces near their opponents&#8217; box.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Mike Stars needed a standout performance from their goalkeeper,\u00a0<strong>Nkosinathi Sigudla<\/strong>, to secure the win.
