Photo: <strong>TeamPhoto SA.\u00a0<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After a blistering start to their u16 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/tournament-sashoc-ipt\/\">SASHOC National Week<\/a><\/strong> campaigns, <strong>Western Province A<\/strong>, <strong>Boland A<\/strong>, <strong>KZN Coastal A<\/strong>, and <strong>KZN Inland A<\/strong>, carried their momentum into the second day of action at the University of Free State&#8217;s Astroturf in Bloemfontein on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/live.supersportschools.com\/category\/60881d22e4b5815e6525b589\/sub-category\/66599c031417dbcf92bfe2eb\/\">Catch the action live on SuperSport Schools<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the opening day, all four teams kicked off their challenges with impressive victories.<\/p>\n<p>The defending champions, Western Province defeated both <strong>Eastern Province A<\/strong> and <strong>Southern Free State A<\/strong> 3-0 to get their title defence off to a smooth start.<\/p>\n<p>On the tournament&#8217;s second day, coach <strong>Sam Holmes<\/strong>\u2019 troops picked up from where they left off in their encounter against <strong>KZN Inland B<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Province, unlike on Friday, was quickly out of the blocks, and punished their opponents, scoring three goals in the first two chukkas, with <strong>Liyanda Binta<\/strong> striking once and <strong>Jacques van Dyk<\/strong> adding a brace to put them into a comfortable 3-0 lead at halftime.<\/p>\n<p>Further goals in the fourth chukka, from <strong>Luc Dicey<\/strong> and <strong>Oliver Roach<\/strong>, and a consolation goal from <strong>Kwanga Mngwengwe<\/strong> for the Inlanders, made the final result 5-1.<\/p>\n<p>In Pool A, another side that impressed was Boland. Coached by <strong>Dewald Raath<\/strong>, they produced a classy showing to beat <strong>Northern Gauteng A<\/strong> 5-2, which improved their record to two from two.<\/p>\n<p>After falling behind 0-1 to a <strong>Victor Louw<\/strong> goal in the first chukka, Boland came out firing in the second chukka and scored twice, through <strong>Luke Meets <\/strong>and <strong>Seth Paterson<\/strong>, to go into halftime with a narrow lead.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lloyd Patterson<\/strong> made it 3-1 in the third chukka, before Meets scored twice in the final 15 minutes to complete a hattrick. Louw was on target again for Northerns, but it was mere consolation as the Bolanders won by a three-goal margin.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Boland faces a very tough challenge. They play twice and take on Western Province A and Eastern Province A.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51540\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51540\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-51540\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/0M2A9362-b-400x267.jpg\" alt=\"Photo credits: TeamPhoto SA\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51540\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: <strong>TeamPhoto SA<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The KZN teams, Coastal A and Inland A lead Pool B, with <strong>Southern Gauteng A<\/strong> just behind them.<\/p>\n<p>The KZN boys remained unbeaten on day two, with Inland, captained by <strong>Sebastian Laudenberg, <\/strong>thumping <strong>Border A<\/strong> 5-1, before edging out <strong>KZN Coastal B<\/strong> 2-1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thandanani Zuma<\/strong> and <strong>Siwaphiwe Sithembu<\/strong> both scored twice against Border, while <strong>Gomolemo Motswadire<\/strong> completed the drubbing.
