{"id":53602,"date":"2024-07-27T20:30:42","date_gmt":"2024-07-27T18:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=53602"},"modified":"2024-07-27T20:30:42","modified_gmt":"2024-07-27T18:30:42","slug":"casey-gordon-promoted-to-jvw-first-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=53602","title":{"rendered":"Casey Gordon promoted to JVW first team"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-53622\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Casey-Gordon-240727-400x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><strong>JVW Girls Football Development (JVW)<\/strong> has promoted <strong>Casey Gordon<\/strong>, the goalkeeper for the <strong>JVW Sasol (Sapphires)<\/strong> team, to the JVW first team, which competes in the<strong> Hollywoodbets Super League<\/strong>, the premier division of women&#8217;s football in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>JVW made the announcement on the club&#8217;s social media platforms on Saturday, 27 July, just before their match with <strong>Lindelani Ladies<\/strong> in the Hollywoodbets Super League<\/p>\n<p>Gordon joined the squad for JVW&#8217;s 2-0 victory, which was achieved thanks to a double from the talented <strong>Tanna<\/strong> <strong>Hollis,<\/strong> who was the joint top goal scorer in the <strong>Gauteng Engen Cup Tournament in 2024 <\/strong>alongside <strong>Gugu Mabitsela <\/strong>of <strong>Mamelodi Sundowns<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Gordon&#8217;s promotion was welcomed by football fans, who have been eagerly following the impressive progress of the exciting young net-minder.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>Just 17 years old, Gordon will join<strong> Banyana Banyana<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Kaylin Swart, <\/strong>JVW&#8217;s primary goalkeeper, for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n<p>This season, the teenager distinguished herself by being named the <strong>2024 Engen Sports Goalkeeper of the Tournament<\/strong>. It was a third year in succession that she had received the accolade.<\/p>\n<p>Gordon&#8217;s fearless and athletic goalkeeping has already brought her national caps for the South African u17 and u20 teams.
