{"id":56017,"date":"2024-08-28T16:38:21","date_gmt":"2024-08-28T14:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=56017"},"modified":"2024-08-28T16:38:21","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T14:38:21","slug":"cambridge-u17s-win-lilyfontein-sevens-graeme-crowned-u15-champs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=56017","title":{"rendered":"Cambridge u17s win Lilyfontein Sevens, Graeme crowned u15 champs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-56020\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/rugby-lilyfontein-sevens-280824-400x332.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"332\" \/><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>U17<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cambridge High School<\/strong> captured the u17 title and <strong>Graeme College<\/strong> lifted the silverware in the u15 age group when the <strong>High School Sevens Series, proudly sponsored by Toyota<\/strong>, stopped at <strong>Lilyfontein<\/strong> in the Eastern Cape on the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Cambridge ploughed through their opposition until the semi-finals, where they were given a stern examination by <strong>Hudson Park<\/strong> before emerging with a 22-17 victory.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Port Rex<\/strong>, beaten 17-10 by <strong>Hangklip<\/strong> in their Pool B clash, reversed that result when they met in the semi-finals, winning 22-12, to book a place in the final.<\/p>\n<p>In a very tight contest, only a made conversion separated the sides as Cambridge claimed a 14-12 victory.<\/p>\n<p>The Bowl went the way of <strong>George Randell<\/strong>, who held on for a 20-15 win over <strong>Beaconhurst<\/strong>, while <strong>Queen&#8217;s College<\/strong> cruised to a 29-5 defeat of Lilyfontein in the Plate final.<\/p>\n<p><strong>u15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Graeme College<\/strong> was the class of the u15 competition, rolling to the title in emphatic fashion. Only once were they scored upon, but that came in a comfortable 39-7 win over the <strong>Mdantsane Hurricanes<\/strong>. In their other four matches, they blanked their opposition.<\/p>\n<p>Their semi-final win over the same side was a tough battle, but Graeme took it 17-0.
