Photo: Brad Morgan.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The u19 finalists, <strong>Central Gauteng A<\/strong> and <strong>KwaZulu-Natal A<\/strong>, both had five players selected for the <strong>South African Schools<\/strong> squad, which was announced at the <strong>Schools Water Polo South Africa Inter-Provincial Tournament<\/strong> in East London on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Four players from <strong>Western Province<\/strong> were included, while the hosts, <strong>Buffalo City<\/strong>, celebrated the selection of <strong>Liam Hansen<\/strong> and <strong>Thomas Caswell<\/strong>. They were part of an all-<strong>Selborne College<\/strong> team that impressed with their hustle and never-say-die spirit, and which carried them to fourth place in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The champions, Central Gauteng, had two players from <strong>St John&#8217;s College<\/strong>, <strong>Ross Rovelli<\/strong> and <strong>Greg Pryce<\/strong>, selected, while Pryce was named the <strong>Best Defender<\/strong> for a second year in succession. There was further success for St John&#8217;s when <strong>Jon-Marc De Carvalho<\/strong> was named the coach of the national side.<\/p>\n<p><strong>King Edward VII (KES)<\/strong> had goalkeeper <strong>Judah Dos Santos<\/strong> and defender <strong>Karabo Mamaregane<\/strong> selected for the side, while <strong>Marc Smith<\/strong>, of <strong>St Stithians<\/strong>, who was named the <strong>Player of the Tournament<\/strong>, also cracked the nod.<\/p>\n<p>The KwaZulu-Natal contingent included players from five different schools. The <strong>Goalkeeper of the Tournament<\/strong>, <strong>Ross Strauss<\/strong>, of <strong>Clifton College<\/strong>, was picked, as was the <strong>Best Attacker<\/strong>, <strong>Tristan Uys<\/strong>, of <strong>Hilton College<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>They were joined by <strong>Kirk Wilson<\/strong>, of <strong>Durban High School (DHS)<\/strong>, <strong>Northwood<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Matthew Lortan<\/strong>, and <strong>James Pohl<\/strong>, from the <strong>Saints Invitational Water Polo champions<\/strong>, <strong>Kearsney College<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Western Province quartet included two players from <strong>Bishops Diocesan College<\/strong>, <strong>Thomas Truter<\/strong> and <strong>Ross Stewart<\/strong>, while <strong>Nicholas Fall<\/strong>, last year&#8217;s Best Attacker, who enjoyed another outstanding tournament, was selected for a second year in a row.
