After five days of superb schools’ cricket during the Peninsula Festival<\/strong> with only Rondebosch Boys’ High<\/strong> managing to finish the week with an unbeaten record intact.<\/p>\n

Rondebosch defeated Potchefstroom Gimnasium<\/strong> in a closely contested match at Rondebosch’s main oval on Sunday by four runs.<\/p>\n

The team from Potchefstroom needed only eight runs from the final over with their kingpin Ulrich Botha<\/strong> (51) still at the crease.\u00a0From the home side, Arin Spiller<\/strong> (1\/22)\u00a0<\/span>was to bowl the final over.<\/p>\n

To the arena stepped Adeeb Levy<\/strong> to run out Botha from the very first delivery of the over. Spiller then rearranged Henr\u00e9 Cronj\u00e9’s (0) stumps with the very next delivery to add to the pressure. With the fourth delivery of the 20th over Divan van Eldik (6)<\/strong> was also ran out.<\/p>\n

Botha was also the pick of the Potch Gimmies bowling attack with figures of 2\/23. Rondebosch’s Noah Heath<\/strong> (39) and Levy (33) were leading their side’s charge with the willow.<\/p>\n

Hilton College<\/strong> finished their tour on a high by defeating Wynberg Boys’ High<\/strong> by seven wickets in their final match in the Cape on the Jacques Kallis Oval.<\/p>\n

Wynberg reached 129\/9 in their allotted 20 overs with Michail Tarentaal<\/strong> (41) and Moosa Gabriels<\/strong> (29) making the biggest contributions. Luke Campbell<\/strong> was in superb form with the ball in hand as he picked up three wickets for 15 runs.<\/p>\n

Hilton’s Alex Pitman<\/strong> (51*) then led the way with his unbeaten half-century with some solid support from Simon Steyn<\/strong> (29) and Robert Burman<\/strong> (24).<\/p>\n

Bishops’ Luke de Klerk<\/strong> (5\/10) had Pretoria Boys High<\/strong> on the backfoot early on in their match-up as he claimed a five-wicket haul in his side’s victory of seven wickets. The team from the Jacaranda City was bowled out for 101 runs with their stalwart Joshua Hall<\/strong> (30*) once again leading the way.<\/p>\n

Bishops got past the target in the tenth over with Alex Vintcent<\/strong> (34) contributing the bulk of the runs.<\/p>\n
