Rondebosch Boys’ High<\/strong> dangerman Jack Robinson<\/strong> scored four goals to lead his side to a tension-filled 7-5 victory over Bishops Diocesan College<\/strong> in a SACS Nite Series<\/strong> clash in Cape Town on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

The highly anticipated Bish\/Bosch derby<\/a><\/strong> was the highlight of round two’s action, with the teams entertaining and keeping spectators on the edge of their seats for the full four chukkas.<\/p>\n

Heading into the contest, both rivals had been in strong early season form. ‘Bosch, after dominating Reddam House Constantia in round one of the Nite Series<\/a><\/strong>, was confident, especially after lifting the St Andrew’s College (SAC) Shield<\/a> <\/strong>on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Bishops, meanwhile, topped their pool in Makhanda, but lost in the semi-finals. They finished well, though, securing third place.<\/p>\n

Wednesday’s clash got off to an electric start. It was end-to-end stuff. Eight goals were scored in the first half, and there could have been more if not for some outstanding defence.<\/p>\n

Robinson was at the forefront of ‘Bosch’s attack and struck twice in the opening two chukkas, while Matthew Galpin<\/strong> and Noah Reiback<\/strong> also found the back of the net.<\/p>\n

Matt Fenn<\/strong> scored a brace for Bishops early. Then, goals from Timothy Young<\/strong> and James Malan<\/strong> made it 4-4 at the interval.<\/p>\n

The third chukka was thrilling. Despite no goals being scored, both sides exhibited the quality that has many regarding them as the best two teams in the Western Cape.<\/p>\n

Both defensive units were on top of their game, while goalkeepers Joel O’Brien<\/strong> (Rondebosch) and Alex Laspatzis<\/strong> (Bishops) pulled off some incredible saves to keep their sides in the contest.<\/p>\n

After three tight chukkas, Rondebosch, at last, defused the Bishops’ challenge and went clear.<\/p>\n

James Pinnock<\/strong> was the first to find the back of the net. Then, Robinson beat Laspatzis twice in quick succession to open up a three-goal advantage for ‘Bosch.<\/p>\n

Bishops had the last say with a goal from Luke Cartwright,<\/strong> but they suffered their first Nite Series defeat of 2025.<\/p>\n

Paul Roos Gimnasium (PRG)<\/strong>, after a narrow 8-7 win over SACS in the first round of the Nite Series, maintained their unbeaten record with another one-goal win, edging out Reddam House Constantia<\/strong> 7-6.<\/p>\n

James Swart<\/strong> scored a hat-trick for PRG, while Aiden Laubser<\/strong> and Franz Wetzl <\/strong>bagged two each.<\/p>\n

SACS got back on the winning trail with a hard-fought 5-4 win over Wynberg Boys’ High<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jandro Rojo-Roos<\/strong> led the scoring for the hosts, with two goals, while Ben Bigara<\/strong>, Connor Mortlock<\/strong>, and captain, Matt Forbes <\/strong>also got their names on the scoresheet.<\/p>\n
