Reddam House Constantia’s Adam<\/strong> (7) and Blake Brown<\/strong> (4) scored a combined 11 goals<\/strong> to inspire their team to an astonishing 15-7 victory over South African College High School (SACS)<\/strong> in round five of the SACS Nite Series<\/strong> in Cape Town on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

It was one of the best matches of this year’s competition and it stunned the home supporters at the SACS Aquatic Centre<\/strong> into silence.<\/p>\n

The visitors entered the clash after sustaining a 4-14 loss to Bishops Diocesan College<\/strong> in round four. SACS had, meanwhile, forced a 10-10 draw with high-flying Rondebosch Boys’ High<\/a> <\/strong>in their last outing.<\/p>\n

Both sides had a shot at qualifying for the semifinals, but they also needed other results to go their way.<\/p>\n

From the start, Reddam was on fire and they flew off the blocks, dominating the early exchanges.<\/p>\n

Coach Nick Tinkler’<\/strong>s charges rushed to a 3-0 lead in the opening three minutes, courtesy of a quick hat-trick from Adam Brown.<\/p>\n

Those quick goals sparked his brother, Blake, into life, and he quickly joined the scoring party with a brace of his own.<\/p>\n

After the first chukka, Reddam enjoyed an eye-opening 5-1 lead, with Jandro Rojo-Roos<\/strong> finding the only reply for SACS.<\/p>\n

With three full chukkas left, one might’ve given SACS the benefit of the doubt, and they appeared to believe they had a comeback in them.\u00a0However, that belief and hope were quickly shut down by Reddam\u2019s enthusiastic defence and the acrobatic shot-stopping of goalkeeper Guy Hart<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While the hosts continued to misfire, Reddam found the back of the net with ease. Blake Brown added two more goals to his tally in the second chukka, and his brother followed suit after captain Jayden Bosman<\/strong> also added his name to the score sheet.<\/p>\n

Aidan Turrell<\/strong> struck twice for SACS, but they found themselves in a big hole, trailing Reddam 3-9 at the break.<\/p>\n

A big win beckoned for the visitors if they could maintain control in the second half and see out the match.<\/p>\n

They didn’t panic. Instead, they continued to build scoreboard pressure and netted six more times in the remaining two chukkas.<\/p>\n

Adam enhanced his haul by adding another three goals, while Pierre Johnson<\/strong>, Jethro Montagu-Fryer<\/strong>, and Struan Valentine<\/strong> completed the drubbing in the final chukka.<\/p>\n

Turrell struck twice more for SACS, and Rojo-Roos and Connor Mortlock<\/strong> also found the back of the net, but the game was well and truly out of reach by then.<\/p>\n

Reddam House, the underdogs, had secured a dominant victory.<\/p>\n

The loss means SACS has missed out on the semi-finals. It also means they will face Reddam next week again for fifth place.<\/p>\n

In other round five fixtures, Rondebosch<\/strong> was made to work hard for their 8-6 win over Wynberg Boys’ High<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They were led to victory by hat-tricks from Noah Reiback<\/strong> and Luke Burger<\/strong>, while Jack Robinson<\/strong> and Matthew Galpin<\/strong> also netted.<\/p>\n

Riley Clarke <\/strong>scored three times and was the standout player for Wynberg, while Sam Mocke<\/strong> (2) and Alex Barrett<\/strong> made sure it was a tight game.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Matt Fenn<\/strong> scored a hat-trick of goals as Bishops scored a narrow 8-7 win over Paul Roos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
