Ahead of the second week of the Gauteng Development League<\/strong> season, Supersport United<\/strong> coach Tumelo Ndaba<\/strong> made clear his team’s ambitions of winning the u19 division this year, which would require them dethroning coach Sifiso Mnguni<\/strong>‘s Highlands Park<\/strong>, the back-to-back champions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two days after speaking to SuperSport Schools Plus<\/strong><\/a> in an exclusive interview, Ndaba led his troops from Pretoria to Johannesburg to face off against Wits Junior<\/strong> at Marks Park<\/strong>. Boy, did Ndaba’s team make a statement away from home!<\/span><\/p>\n

United slotted five goals while conceding one to show they intend to live up to their coach’s lofty goal. While some might have viewed Ndaba’s comments with amusement last week, they’ve surely sat up and taken notice since then.<\/span><\/p>\n

Star player Orifha Maubelo<\/strong> scored a stunning four goals for SuperSport United, while Tshegofatso Modise<\/strong> netted the other. Keitumetse Lesia<\/strong> provided two assists and there was one each from Lesego Mokae<\/strong> and Tshiamo Selemela<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

SuperSport United’s 5-1 victory at Marks Park saw them remain unbeaten after they fought back from two goals down in their opening game to secure a 2-2 draw against coach David Mathebula<\/strong>‘s Kaizer Chiefs<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

After struggling in the second half of their clash with SuperSport United a week ago, Chiefs hosted Mamelodi Sundowns<\/strong> in Johannesburg this weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n
