Westville Boys’ High<\/strong> had to work hard for their victory over Northwood on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Yaseen Khan<\/strong> (5\/36) picked up a five-wicket haul as he helped his side restrict Northwood to 194 runs in their innings.<\/p>\n

Northwood’s Evan Fouch\u00e9<\/strong> (72) and Thayin Kuppan<\/strong> (58) weighing in with half-centuries.<\/p>\n

Kaeden McAllister<\/strong> (92*) got Westville home with only three wickets still in hand. James Nielsen<\/strong> was the pick of Northwood’s bowling attack as he grabbed three wickets at the cost of only 39 runs.<\/p>\n

Michaelhouse’s Murray Baxter<\/strong> (103*) saved his side from a defeat in their time-cricket match-up against St Charles’ College<\/strong>. He faced 139 deliveries as he almost saw his side home before play was called off.<\/p>\n

Baxter struck five fours and three sixes in his innings on the Roy Gathorne Oval<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

St Charles reached 198\/6 when they declared their innings after 60 overs with Ntando Zuma<\/strong> (90) leading the charge. Michael Thornton<\/strong> (2\/34) and Nathan Hoatson<\/strong> (2\/44) was the pick of Michaelhouse’s bowling attack.<\/p>\n

Hilton College<\/strong> managed to secure a one-wicket victory over Maritzburg College<\/strong> on Goldstones in Pietermaritzburg.<\/p>\n

The home side managed only 140 before being bowled out with Brett Cutting<\/strong> (3\/27) and Nicholas Chanter<\/strong> (2\/33) causing most of the damage. Bryn Brokensha<\/strong> (35) and Chad Mason<\/strong> (24) the only batsmen who managed to get their innings going.<\/p>\n

Hilton’s captain, Ross Boast<\/strong> (49) led his side’s batting effort as Brokensha (3\/12) and Oliver da Costa<\/strong> (3\/15) caused havoc.<\/p>\n

Glenwood High School<\/strong> bagged a 68-run victory over Clifton with Slade Lock<\/strong> shining with an allround performance. Lock (58) recorded a half-century while also picking up two wickets at the cost of only 22 runs.<\/p>\n

Kearsney College<\/strong> came out on top by nine-wickets against Durban High School<\/strong> in a match which was affected heavily by the Duckworh\/Lewis-method due to rain. DHS batted first and was in trouble at 47\/8 after 20 overs in the 45 overs-a-side match.<\/p>\n

Kearsney only needed 81 in 45 overs after the adjustment and Hayden Bishop<\/strong> (38*) and Dyllan Wiggit<\/strong> (34*) saw them home without too much trouble.<\/p>\n

Durban High School 47\/8<\/strong> (Sfundo Mthenbo 14; Sandiswa Yeni 3\/20, Ryan Browning 2\/14); Kearsney College 83\/1<\/strong> (Hayden Bishop 38*, Dyllan Wiggit 34*; Semal Pillay 1\/20). Kearsney College won by nine wickets (D\/L-method)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
