Photo: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=61564213538889&amp;locale=zh_CN\">Shot by Shani Photography<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A comprehensive 7-2 victory for <strong>Eunice High School<\/strong> over <strong>Middelburg Ho\u00ebrskool<\/strong> and a nervy 1-0 win for <strong>Oranje Meisieskool<\/strong> over <strong>Hudson Park<\/strong> brought the curtain down on the 2025 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/mouth-watering-clashes-headline-2025-synsport-greg-beling-festival\/\">Synsport Greg Beling Festival<\/a><\/strong> in East London on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>After three days of intense, entertaining, and high-quality hockey, both Bloemfontein teams returned home with four wins each from five matches.<\/p>\n<p>They both lost to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/rhenish-ready-to-hit-the-reset-button-and-start-afresh-in-2025\/\">Rhenish Girls&#8217; High School<\/a><\/strong>. Oranje went down <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/rhenish-dominates-at-synosport-greg-beling-festival\/\">0-3 on Friday<\/a><\/strong>, while Eunice pushed the Stellenbosch girls hard <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/rhenish-still-unbeaten-while-eastern-cape-trio-wins-big\/\">but was beaten 2-3<\/a><\/strong> on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The festival&#8217;s final day offered both teams a chance to finish strongly and to build confidence ahead of the <strong>St Mary&#8217;s Waverley Hockey Festival<\/strong> next month.<\/p>\n<p>Coach <strong>Nika Coertzen&#8217;<\/strong>s Eunice side was the first to run out on the park against Middelburg Ho\u00ebrskool.\u00a0They played clinical hockey and were rewarded with some top-class goals.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/player-profile-bianca-rees-gibbs-eunice\/\">Bianca Rees-Gibbs<\/a><\/strong>, who netted twice against Rhenish, was back on the scoring sheet, and this time she scored a whopping four goals on her 150th appearance for the side.<\/p>\n<p>The deadly <strong>Anebel Venter<\/strong> also joined the scoring action before goals from <strong>Iliana de Gouveia<\/strong> and <strong>Storm Harris<\/strong> completed the drubbing.<\/p>\n<p>While Eunice dominated their fixture, their city rivals, Oranje, were almost dealt a massive blow by a gritty Hudson Park team.<\/p>\n<p>Coach <strong>Gys van Schalkwyk<\/strong>&#8216;s side was far from their best and entered the match on the back of a 1-1 draw with<strong> St Anne&#8217;s DSG<\/strong> on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>They managed just one goal, scored by <strong>Camilyn Parkin<\/strong> early in the first chukka. Thankfully, for the Bloemfontein girls, it proved to be enough. Photo: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=61564213538889&amp;locale=zh_CN\">Shot by Shani Photography<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In other matches on the final day, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/collegiate-optimistic-ahead-of-synsport-greg-beling-festival\/\">Collegiate Girls&#8217; High<\/a><\/strong> defeated <strong>Parel Vallei<\/strong> 3-2 in a thrilling match to finish the festival unbeaten.<\/p>\n<p>Coach <strong>Michael Abrahams<\/strong>\u2019 team had picked up wins against Middelburg Ho\u00ebrskool and <strong>Bethlehem Voortrekker<\/strong> the day before.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday&#8217;s clash was tightly contested, but Collegiate fired in the winning goal in the final chukka and they head back to Gqeberha in a positive mind frame as they prepare for the challenges that lie ahead.<\/p>\n<p>One of the host schools,<strong> Clarendon High School for Girls<\/strong>, signed off with a solid 3-0 win over <strong>Woodridge College<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the day, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/sasolburg-defying-the-odds-at-the-synsport-greg-beling-festival\/\">Ho\u00ebrskool Sasolburg<\/a><\/strong>, who enjoyed a strong festival, outplayed <strong>Cradock High<\/strong> 12-0.<\/p>\n<p>It was a commanding victory for coach <strong>Jacolene McLaren&#8217;<\/strong>s side and was inspired by goals from <strong>Tayla-Ann Lee<\/strong> (5), <strong>Lezey Bischoff<\/strong> (3), <strong>Catlin Erwee<\/strong> (3), and skipper <strong>Chana-Dee Gibson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Voortrekker also won, netting the only goal of the game against Stirling High, while <strong>Queenstown Girls&#8217; High<\/strong> beat Glenwood House 2-1.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/merrifield-laser-focused-ahead-of-border-schools-day\/\">Merrifield College<\/a><\/strong>, guided by coach <strong>Antonet Louw<\/strong>, defeated Kingswood College 1-0 to send the Makhanda school packing without a single victory.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, their town rivals, <strong>DSG Makhanda<\/strong>, defeated St Anne&#8217;s DSG 3-2 in their final match of the festival.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESULTS\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>DAY 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>@Clarendon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DSG Makhanda 3-2 St Anne&#8217;s DSG<br \/>\nEunice 7-2 Middelburg<br \/>\nOranje 1-0 Hudson Park<br \/>\nKingsridge 3-1 Ho\u00ebr Volkskool Graaff-Reinet<br \/>\nClarendon 3-0 Woodridge College.<\/p>\n<p><strong>@Cambridge\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Union 1-1 Duineveld<br \/>\nBrandwag 2-0 Curro Waterstone<br \/>\nWestering 1-0 Cambridge<\/p>\n<p><strong>@Selborne College<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Collegiate 3-2 Parel Vallei.<\/p>\n<p><strong>@Stirling High\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sasolburg 12-0 <\/strong>Cradock<br \/>\nJim Fouch\u00e9 2-0 Framesby<br \/>\nWitteberg 2-1 Alex Road<br \/>\nVoortrekker 1-0 Stirling High<\/p>\n<p><strong>@Merrifield College<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Queenstown Girls&#8217; High 2-1 Glenwood House<br \/>\nMerrifield College 1-0 Kingswood College<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A comprehensive 7-2 victory for Eunice High School over Middelburg Ho\u00ebrskool and a nervy 1-0 win for Oranje Meisieskool over Hudson Park brought the curtain down on the 2025 Synsport Greg Beling Festival in East London on Sunday.
