The King Edward VII School (KES<\/em>) Easter Festival<\/strong> exploded into life on Thursday, with Jeppe High School for Boys<\/strong> and Ho\u00ebrskool Eldoraigne <\/strong>getting the ball rolling.<\/p>\n

Although their match started at a slow tempo, the intensity was evident from the first whistle. Both sides began cautiously, but it was Eldoraigne who shocked their more fancied opponents with the contest’s opening goal.<\/p>\n

Jeppe, with typical character, responded with style and purpose, and they evened the score with a slick field goal.<\/p>\n

Picking up momentum, the boys from Kensington quickly added a second to seize control of the match. By the fourth chukka, Jeppe had the crowd roaring and they slotted two more goals to seal a 4\u20131 victory.<\/p>\n

Parktown Boys\u2019 High School<\/strong>, under the guidance of new 1st XI coach, David Grace<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0also impressed with a confident 3\u20131 win over St Charles College,<\/strong> showcasing sharp teamwork and clinical finishing.<\/p>\n

Maritzburg College<\/strong> followed suit, flexing their muscles in a commanding 4\u20131 defeat of Helpmekaar Kollege<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In another standout encounter, the hosts King Edward VII School<\/strong>\u00a0put on a masterclass, overpowering Glenwood High School<\/strong> to record a big 6\u20132 win.<\/p>\n

The final fixture of the day saw Northwood School<\/strong> grind out a disciplined 2\u20130 win over Ho\u00ebrskool Waterkloof<\/strong>. Playing with trademark control and discipline, they kept Klofies<\/strong><\/em> at bay and added another victory to an increasingly impressive record in 2025.<\/p>\n

After a break on Good Friday, the action resumes on Saturday with coach Siya Sityana’<\/strong>s Jeppe facing Kearsney College<\/strong> at 07:30 on the Weinberg Astro<\/strong>. Maritzburg College takes on Queen’s College<\/strong> on the St John’s Astro<\/strong> at the same time. It will be the first game for Queen’s at the festival.<\/p>\n

The hosts take on St Charles College, which will be followed by a clash between Glenwood and Helpmekaar.<\/p>\n
