\"\"The Gauteng Development League<\/strong> returns this weekend following a break over the Easter holiday, where teams competed in other competitions in different parts of the country. <\/span><\/p>\n

The return of the league almost didn’t happen because of persistent rains in the Gauteng province over the last two weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the grounds’ drainage systems and hard work from the various ground staff means that some matches will be played this week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the ground staff, Remember Elite Sport Academy<\/strong>‘s President Park Stadium<\/strong> won’t be ready in time, because of a water-logged pitch, which has resulted in their fixture against the in-form Randburg AFC<\/strong> being postponed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, the Rockefvs’<\/strong> home fixture against Highlands Park<\/strong> has suffered the same fate, with the newbies’ ACCP Grounds <\/strong>also waterlogged. <\/span><\/p>\n

The rest of the scheduled fixtures will be played. First up is the weekend’s most anticipated match-up. It takes place at Elandsfontein<\/strong>, where School of Excellence<\/strong> hosts Kaizer Chiefs<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

TS Galaxy<\/strong> welcomes Kathorus Hyper Academy<\/strong> to the 3 Squared Stadium<\/strong>, Mamelodi Sundowns<\/strong> travels to Tsakane Stadium<\/strong> to play East Rand Athletic Club<\/strong>, while Jomo Cosmos<\/strong> tackles Panorama FC<\/strong> at the Southern Suburbs Sports and Recreation Centre<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Wits Junior<\/strong> visits Tuks<\/strong> for a clash at the Tuks Sports Ground<\/strong>, Sevens Academy<\/strong> takes on the log leaders Superport United<\/strong> at Woodlands International College<\/strong>, and Joburg City<\/strong> goes up against league newbies Elspark United Academy<\/strong> at the Greek Sporting Club<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

A full list of fixtures follows on Monday, with the showdown between Mamelodi Sundowns and TS Galaxy arguably the pick of them.<\/p>\n
