Photo. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1262766955848977&amp;set=pb.100063470534285.-2207520000\">Meridian Cosmo City on Facebook.<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Due to adverse weather conditions in late April, some first-round matches in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/recap-round-one-of-the-curro-halala-cup\/\"><strong>Curro Halala Cup<\/strong><\/a> were unable to be played, including games in the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, and Gauteng.<\/p>\n<p>Those matches were rescheduled and some were played on Wednesday and Thursday this week.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, at <strong>Curro Hillcrest,<\/strong> in KwaZulu-Natal, <strong>Hillcrest High School<\/strong>, who had made an impressive and exciting start to the season, sought a positive response to a 0-3 defeat in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/top-dogs-back-to-winning-ways-in-mancosa-kznhsfa-league\/\"><strong>Mancosa KZNHSFA<\/strong> <\/a>\u00a0Coastal A-League against <strong>Westville Boys&#8217; High School <\/strong>in their last outing.<\/p>\n<p>They didn&#8217;t have much time to regroup and redirect their focus towards their Curro Halala Cup match against <strong>Grantleigh College<\/strong>. No problem, though, as the locals found their goal-scoring form. They progressed to the\u00a0next round after a 7-3 victory in a game that rained goals.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Football - Hillcrest High School vs Grantleigh High School - Curro Halala Cup - 8 May 2025\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eLHOmiQVC14?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Glenwood High School<\/strong> was awarded a 3-0 walkover after <strong>Pinetown Boys&#8217; High<\/strong>, disappointingly, failed to show up.<\/p>\n<p>In Johannesburg, at <strong>Waterstone College<\/strong>, <strong>Mondeor High School<\/strong> defeated <strong>Curro Protea Glen<\/strong> 3-2, while <strong>Curro Wilgeheuwel<\/strong> secured a 3-1 victory over <strong>Queens High School<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meridian Cosmo City<\/strong> moved on to the next round after an entertaining 6-5 win from the penalty spot over <strong>Randfontein High School<\/strong>, following a 2-2 draw in regulation time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Norkem Park High School<\/strong> advanced, too, after an entertaining 4-3 win over Waterstone College in a game that showcased outstanding moments of football and some memorable goals.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Football - Norkem Park High vs Waterstone College - Curro Halala Cup - 7 MAY 2025\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hI2dU1VsF3s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In KZN, at <strong>Curro Hillcrest<\/strong>, <strong>Durban High School<\/strong> <strong>(DHS)<\/strong> and <strong>Kloof High School<\/strong> faced off in a dramatic penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
