{"id":73175,"date":"2025-05-25T18:20:34","date_gmt":"2025-05-25T16:20:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=73175"},"modified":"2025-05-25T18:20:34","modified_gmt":"2025-05-25T16:20:34","slug":"ml-sultan-queensburgh-high-and-canaan-college-continue-good-form","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=73175","title":{"rendered":"ML Sultan, Queensburgh High, and Canaan College continue good form"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-29487 \" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Football-South-Africa-400x210.png\" alt=\"Football in Stadium\" width=\"455\" height=\"239\" \/>Although the focus of many has been directed towards the<strong> Mancosa KwaZulu-Natal Schools Football Association (KZNHSFA) Coastal<\/strong> and <strong>Inland A-Leagues,<\/strong> teams such as <strong>ML Sultan<\/strong> and <strong>Queensburgh High School<\/strong> have been consistently providing outstanding results week after week in the Coastal and Inland B-Leagues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coastal B<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the log leaders, Queensburgh High School, delivered another good performance at home when they faced <strong>Ashton Ballito B Team.<\/strong> Last week, they beat <strong>Grosvenor<\/strong> 2-1, and this week they were outstanding, winning 3-0 against Ashton Ballito B.<\/p>\n<p>With four wins and one draw thus far, Queensburgh High remains unbeaten.<\/p>\n<p>After their loss to Queensburgh last week, Grosvenor made a strong comeback, scoring a convincing 4-1 victory against the struggling <strong>Amanzimtoti High,<\/strong> who lie seventh in the standings, with just two points, just above Ashton Ballito A.<\/p>\n<p>The comfortable win was a nice boost for Grosvenor, who have experienced mixed results, recording two victories, one draw, and two losses in their five matches. They&#8217;re fourth on the log, just behind third-placed <strong>Durban High School (DHS)<\/strong>, who have eight points.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/ml-sultan-maintains-unbeaten-streak-queensburgh-high-impresses\/\"><strong>Redwood College<\/strong><\/a>, followed up on a 0-4 loss to DHS with a 2-1 win over <strong>Sastri College<\/strong>. That result left them in second place in the table, with 10 points, trailing the leaders, Queensburgh, by three.<\/p>\n<p>DHS, after a 0-2 loss to <strong>Hillcrest High<\/strong> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/shootouts-big-scores-and-all-out-action-in-the-curro-halala-cup\/\"><strong>Curro Halala Cup<\/strong><\/a> on Wednesday, was held to a 1-1 draw by <strong>New Forest High.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Coastal C<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Coastal C-League, <strong>Canaan College<\/strong> defeated <strong>Birdswood<\/strong> 2-0 in a highly anticipated match of the week, which began with both teams undefeated. With the victory, Canaan joined Birdswood on 10 points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brettonwood<\/strong> claimed a 2-0 win over <strong>Ashton Ballito B<\/strong>, while <strong>Durban Academy<\/strong> and <strong>George Campbell<\/strong> shared a goalless draw.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inland B<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ML Sultan remains unbeaten in the Inland B-League, with five wins from five matches. They&#8217;re making a strong push for promotion and are a tidy five points clear of second-placed <strong>Northbury Park Secondary School<\/strong> and third-place <strong>Riverwood College,<\/strong> who both have 10 points.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, ML Sultan was tested by <strong>Maritzburg College B <\/strong>at Alexandra High School but came away with a 3-2 win.<\/p>\n<p>While the Maritzburg College A side leads the way in the Inland A-League, Maritzburg College B has had a tougher time of it, picking up two wins, two losses and a draw.
