Their contingent includes, among others, flank <strong>Eugene de Lange<\/strong>, fullback Ty Ax, <strong>Liam Devenier<\/strong>, Zian Smit, and the twins, <strong>Shaye <\/strong>and <strong>Ethan Lourens<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Noordheuwel and Jeppe each have six players in the lineup, which is reflection on the consistent performances both schools have delivered this season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The starting lineup includes several standout combinations. In the backline, <strong>Jeandr\u00e9 Uithaler<\/strong> (Noordheuwel) and Shaye Lourens will form the crucial halfback partnership. Ethan Lourens and Jeppe&#8217;s <strong>Lindelani Nkanbule<\/strong> will provide strength and speed in the midfield, while <strong>Joel Akilo<\/strong> (Jeppe) and <strong>Aiden Bester<\/strong> (Noordheuwel) provide finishing flair on the wings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the pack, <strong>King Edward VII<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>(KES) Chinedu Amadi<\/strong> anchors the loose trio at number eight, supported by De Lange (Helpmekaar) and <strong>Sam Bruwer<\/strong> (KES). <strong>Monument<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Vincent Robberts<\/strong> provides a physical presence at lock, with <strong>Clinton Agu<\/strong> (Noordheuwel) handling the hooker&#8217;s duties.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lions bench features Jeppe&#8217;s hooker <strong>Ayanda Funeka<\/strong>, loosehead prop <strong>Liam Devenier<\/strong> (Helpmekaar), <strong>Frank van der Merwe<\/strong> (KES), Helpmekaar&#8217;s eighthman <strong>Zian Smit<\/strong>, <strong>Armand van Eck<\/strong> (Noordheuwel), <strong>Talent Sithole<\/strong> (Jeppe), inside centre <strong>Phano Letsie<\/strong> (Jeppe), and <strong>Tidi Moeketsane<\/strong> (Noordheuwel) &#8211; a group selected for their versatility and impact potential.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Golden Lions also named a competitive squad for the forthcoming u18 Academy Week, which will also be played at Ho\u00ebrskool Middelburg.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>KES has four players in the squad, while <strong>Northcliff<\/strong>, Jeppe High School for Boys, Ho\u00ebrskool Monument, and Ho\u00ebrskool Noordheuwel provide three players each. Parktown had two players selected, while the lineup includes one each from Helpmekaar, <strong>St John&#8217;s College<\/strong>, <strong>St Stithians College<\/strong>, and <strong>Marais Viljoen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the back, Northcliff&#8217;s <strong>Matthew Hunt<\/strong> is flanked by right-wing <strong>Ndimphiwe Mjiji<\/strong> (Jeppe) and left-wing <strong>Ruan Genis<\/strong>, from Monument. <strong>Sicelo Sakawuli<\/strong> (St Stithians) partners Sam Smith (KES) in the midfield, offering a balanced mix of pace and physicality. Monument&#8217;s flyhalf, <strong>Jayden Viljoen<\/strong>, links up with Noordheuwel&#8217;s scrumhalf, <strong>Gideon Diedericks,<\/strong> to drive the game plan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The forward pack features <strong>Rio Tshimbalanga<\/strong>, from Marais Viljoen, who anchors the back row, supported by Jeppe&#8217;s <strong>Grady Ngui<\/strong> and Noordheuwel&#8217;s <strong>Andrew Lambert<\/strong> on the flanks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael Bownes<\/strong> (KES) and <strong>Michael Nwogwugwu<\/strong> (Northcliff) will form a strong second-row partnership, while <strong>Awulani Ndlovu<\/strong> (Jeppe), <strong>Juandr\u00e9 van der Merwe<\/strong> (Helpmekaar), and <strong>Stefan Bezuidenhout<\/strong> (Noordheuwel) pack down in the front row.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parktown Boys&#8217; High&#8217;s <strong>Lethoko Mallane<\/strong> and <strong>Manual Motsi<\/strong> feature among the replacements, alongside <strong>Regan McGurk<\/strong> and <strong>Indibable Mboniswa<\/strong> from KES, St John&#8217;s College&#8217;s <strong>Mako Mandizha<\/strong>, Monument&#8217;\u2019s <strong>Ryno van der Westuizen<\/strong>, and Jeppe&#8217;s <strong>Glodi Tshimpaka<\/strong>. McGurk represented the Lions at the Craven Week last year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Golden Lions have also confirmed a promising 23-man squad to represent them at the <strong>FNB u16 Grant Khomo Week<\/strong>, to be played at <strong>St Alban&#8217;s College<\/strong>, in Pretoria, from 29 June to 4 July.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leading the school representation are Monument and KES, with six players each, followed closely by Noordheuwel (4), Jeppe (3), and Parktown (2). Northcliff and Helpmekaar each contribute one player to round off a well-balanced squad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monument&#8217;s <strong>Ray Nathan van Coller<\/strong> will wear the No. 15 jersey, while wings <strong>Russel Mgiba<\/strong> (KES) and <strong>Prosper Mbandlwa<\/strong> (Jeppe) add speed and agility. The Lions will field a midfield pairing of <strong>Asa Mgwatyu<\/strong>, from KES, and Monument&#8217;s <strong>Blessing Monareng<\/strong>, with Jeppe&#8217;s <strong>Ndzalama Mbhalati<\/strong> and <strong>Pierre Crofton<\/strong> (KES) as halfbacks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Up front, Monument players dominate the pack, with <strong>Luan Coetzee<\/strong>, <strong>Roch\u00e9 Botha<\/strong>, <strong>Keegan McCarthy<\/strong>, and <strong>Hanco van Geelen <\/strong>in the lineup. <strong>Iglesias Bruiners<\/strong> (Noordheuwel) brings accuracy at the line-out and aggression at the breakdown. The loose trio features <strong>Aiden Harty<\/strong> (Noordheuwel), <strong>Diederick Kleyn<\/strong> (KES), and McCarthy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bench brings features players who can deliver impact and versatility. <strong>Andries van der Merwe<\/strong> (KES) and <strong>Jordan Venter<\/strong> (Northcliff) bolster the front row, while <strong>Rick van den Berg<\/strong> and <strong>Chrissandro Flemmer<\/strong> (Noordheuwel) offer second and back row cover.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dewald du Preez<\/strong> (Helpmekaar) provides added grunt in the loose forwards.
