SACS ended a 21-year drought against Paarl <\/span>Gimnasium on Saturday by walking from their home field with the scoreboard reading 22-19 in their favour. The team from Cape Town’s last victory over <\/span>Gimmies came in 1996 (8-5). Remarkably their current coach Nick Maurer was the captain of the team who recorded the victory back in 1996. This is Mauer’s first season in charge of SACS’s first XV. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

SACS fought back from being 19-0 down on Saturday with their halfback pairing of Lucky <\/span>Dlepu (scrumhalf) and David Hayes (flyhalf) dictating play with some clever tactical kicking in the second half. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Fairmont’s scrumhalf, Brendon Erasmus, scored 27 points as his team demolished Fairburn by 93-7. Erasmus scored on of his team’s 13 tries of which he also scored one. He also slotted two penalty goals. His halfback partner, Jordan Kroll, scored the only hat-trick of the match.<\/span><\/p>\n
