Photo: Supplied.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Following three days of tightly contested football at <strong>King Edward VII School (KES)<\/strong>, the inaugural <strong>Association of Public Boys&#8217; Schools of South Africa (APBSA)<\/strong> <strong>Football Festival<\/strong> wrapped up on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The evented was dominated by the Gauteng schools, who excelled in the familiar high-altitude conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parktown Boys&#8217; High<\/strong>, <strong>Pretoria Boys High<\/strong>, <strong>Jeppe High School for Boys, St David&#8217;s Marist Inanda<\/strong>, and the host, KES, were among the teams that excelled.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the festival, some of those sides might have been concerned about their match fitness, as most Gauteng schools hadn&#8217;t yet started their football season. They faced competition from schools that had been actively playing since the second term began, including <strong>Northwood, Grey College<\/strong>, and <strong>Dale College<\/strong>, but they arrived well-prepared and eager to compete, and they were up to the tasks awaiting them.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_77633\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-77633\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-77633\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/APBSA-Festival-Photo-400x237.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"237\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-77633\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">With the inaugural Association of Public Boys&#8217; Schools of South Africa (APBSA) Football Festival now in the books, the event was in retrospect, undoubtedly, a huge success. Photo: Supplied.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On Thursday, Parktown Boys&#8217; High secured a 2-1 victory over Grey College, while Pretoria Boys High concluded the festival with a 3-0 win over Dale College. Both Gauteng teams went unbeaten.<\/p>\n<p>Jeppe wrapped up the festival with a 1-1 draw against <strong>Rondebosch Boys&#8217; High<\/strong>, and St David&#8217;s also ended the festival with a scoreless draw against Northwood. The host, KES, finished their fixtures with a 2-1 win over <strong>Queen&#8217;s College<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Roos Gimnasium (PRG)<\/strong>, who had struggled to find their best form in the early going, finished with a flourish, beating <strong>Springs Boys&#8217; High <\/strong>2-0.<\/p>\n<p><strong>St Andrew&#8217;s School<\/strong>, another side that hadn&#8217;t yet engaged top gear, found it on Thursday and overpowered <strong>Potchefstroom Boys&#8217; High <\/strong>4-0 with an outstanding performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Results\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Paul Roos 2-0 Springs&#8217; Boys&#8217; High<br \/>\nRondebosch Boys&#8217; High 1-1 Jeppe<br \/>\nSt Andrew&#8217;s School 4-0 Potchefstroom Boys&#8217; High<br \/>\nPretoria Boys High 3-0 Dale College<br \/>\nParktown Boys&#8217; High 2-1 Grey College<br \/>\nSt David&#8217;s 0-0 Northwood<br \/>\nKES 2-1 Queen&#8217;s College<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following three days of tightly contested football at King Edward VII School (KES), the inaugural Association of Public Boys&#8217; Schools of South Africa (APBSA) Football Festival wrapped up on Thursday.
