Photo: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100064706977035\">Enhanced Sports Media (ES MEDIA)<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>South African College High School<\/strong> <strong>(SACS)<\/strong> and <strong>Paarl Boys&#8217; High<\/strong> recorded two wins each on Wednesday, day one of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/a-diverse-lineup-for-cape-town-international-hockey-tournament\/\">Cape Town International Hockey Tournament<\/a><\/strong>, in the Mother City.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, the two Western Cape outfits finished the day sitting atop Pools A and B, respectively, in the Elite section, with one group fixture awaiting them on day two.<\/p>\n<p>SACS began their title challenge with an emphatic 6-0 victory over <strong>Somerset College<\/strong> in the opening game of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>After a slow start, the boys from Newlands upped their intensity and rushed into a 3-0 lead, courtesy of a<strong> Litha Kraai<\/strong> brace and a strike by <strong>Mohlodi Maseko<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Maseko, then, added two more goals to his tally before<strong> Josh Goulding<\/strong> made it six. Somerset put up a fight despite the scoreline, and <strong>Buhle Mfunelwa<\/strong> was their standout player.<\/p>\n<p>Both sides were in action again later in the day. SACS took on<strong> St George&#8217;s Weybridge<\/strong> and claimed a 6-3 victory over the United Kingdom (UK) visitors, with Kraai (3), Goulding (2), and Maseko on the scoresheet once again. <strong>Sam Geering<\/strong>, <strong>Adam Franks<\/strong>, and <strong>Sam Wood<\/strong> netted for the visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Somerset, meanwhile, drew 1-1 with <strong>Windhoek Afrikaanse<\/strong>, and it was Mfunelwa who found the back of the net.<\/p>\n<p>Paarl Boys&#8217; High leads Pool B after picking up successive 3-0 wins over <strong>Worcester Gimnasium<\/strong> and <strong>Reed&#8217;s School<\/strong>, another of the UK participants, in their day one fixtures.<\/p>\n<p>Against Worcester, <strong>Nicholas Swanepoel<\/strong>, <strong>AJ Fourie<\/strong>, and <strong>Jamie Kock<\/strong> found the back of the net for coach <strong>Rowan McLachlan<\/strong>&#8216;s side. Photo: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100064706977035\">Enhanced Sports Media (ES MEDIA)<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Pool C was dominated by <strong>Durbanville High School<\/strong> and<strong> Parel Vallei<\/strong> (PV).<\/p>\n<p>Both sides have four points after sharing a thrilling 1-1 draw before winning their other game on the opening day.<\/p>\n<p>In their showdown, <strong>Nathan Nissen<\/strong> netted for PV before <strong>Christopher Dunthorne<\/strong> levelled for the Durbanville boys.<\/p>\n<p>PV, then, went on to beat<strong> Kingston Grammar<\/strong> 3-0, with <strong>Luca Jordan<\/strong>, <strong>Tristan Rautenbach<\/strong>, and <strong>Sashin Pillay<\/strong> finding the back of the net.<\/p>\n<p>Durbanville, meanwhile, slotted four past <strong>Millfield School<\/strong>, with Dunthorne, <strong>Nicholas Coetzee<\/strong>, <strong>Elandre Pienaar<\/strong>, and <strong>Hugo Bredell <\/strong>finding the target.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reddam House Constantia<\/strong> and <strong>King Edward\u2019s School<\/strong>, from Birmingham, lead the charge in Pool D with four and three points, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Reddam made a slow start and drew 2-2 with <strong>Ho\u00ebrskool Outeniqua<\/strong> in their opening match.
