Photo: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100064706977035\">Enhanced Sports Media (ES MEDIA)<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Just two years ago, <strong>Paarl Boys&#8217; High<\/strong> took on <strong>South African College High School<\/strong> (SACS) in the final of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/2025\/07\/21\/a-diverse-lineup-for-cape-town-international-hockey-tournament\/\">Cape Town International Hockey Tournament<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In that fixture, SACS reigned supreme at the <strong>Hartleyvale A<\/strong> Stadium, beating their opponents 4-1 to retain the title they had won two years in a row. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A year later, in 2024, SACS was dethroned and beaten<\/span> by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/paarl-gim-dethrones-sacs-wins-cape-town-international-hockey-tournament\/\">Paarl Gimnasium in the final<\/a><\/strong>, while Paarl Boys&#8217; High, affectionately known as <strong><em>Boishaai<\/em><\/strong>, finished in 11th place.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A lot has changed in the past 12 months, however, and both sides have a chance of playing themselves into the final after booking their semi-final places on Thursday, day two of the tournament in the Mother City. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">SACS will take on <strong>Ho\u00ebrskool Outeniqua<\/strong> in the first semi at Hartleyvale A before Boishaai tackles <strong>Reddam House Constantia<\/strong> at the Hartleyvale B AstroTurf at 19:45.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Road to the last four<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The journey to the semifinals was smooth for SACS and Boishaai, who dominated their respective Pools on the opening day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Then, on Thursday, SACS added a 3-0 win over <strong>Windhoek Afrikaanse Private School<\/strong> and a 4-0 defeat of the UK&#8217;s <strong>Reed&#8217;s School<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Daniel Graser<\/strong>, <strong>Litha Kraai<\/strong>, and <strong>Josh Goulding<\/strong> were on the scoresheet against Windhoek. Kraai, as usual, was at it again in the win over Reed&#8217;s, netting a brace, while <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Graser scored once more, and <strong>Troy Loots<\/strong> made it four.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For Boys\u2019 High, it was business as usual in their final pool match against <strong>Windhoek High School<\/strong>, with <strong>Laubscher van Loggerenberg<\/strong>, <strong>Alex Lategan<\/strong>, and <strong>Mijan Herholdt <\/strong>scoring in a 3-0 victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">They <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">were made<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to sweat in their cross-pool playoff against <strong>St George&#8217;s Weybridge<\/strong>, another of the sizeable UK contingent competing in the CTIHT. <\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_78016\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-78016\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-78016\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IGH.M-03634-1-400x267.jpg\" alt=\"Photo: Enhanced Sports Media (ES MEDIA)\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-78016\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100064706977035\">Enhanced Sports Media (ES MEDIA)<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The match ended<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> 1<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">-1<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, which sent the contest to a penalty <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">shootout.
