\"HockeyThe 2025 edition of the Pullen and Howell Girls’ Hockey Tournament<\/strong> got off to an action-packed start on Saturday, with schools from across Gauteng in pool-stage action.<\/p>\n

In Pool A, St Mary’s<\/strong> Waverley<\/strong>, the defending champion, made good use of their home ground advantage on Nathan Field<\/strong>, and made a clean sweep against their three opponents.<\/p>\n

They opened with a narrow 1-0 win over St Dominic’s Catholic School for Girls <\/strong>before defeating Beaulieu College<\/strong> 2-0. In their last match, they outclassed Noordheuwel 3-1 to seal top spot.<\/p>\n

Nories <\/em><\/strong>showed resilience in a thrilling 3-2 win over St Dominic’s and also shared a 1-1 draw with Beaulieu College<\/strong>. St Dom’s <\/em><\/strong>bounced back from those two losses with a 2-1 win over Beaulieu

\nAfrikaanse Ho\u00ebr Meisieskool (Affies) <\/strong>lived up to their expectations, scoring 11 goals without conceding in Pool B. They beat both Ho\u00ebrskool Dr. EG Jansen<\/strong> and Ho\u00ebrskool Monument<\/strong> 3-0, and thumped Kingsmead College 5-0.<\/p>\n

Jansies<\/em><\/strong> played to a 1-1 draw with Monnas <\/em><\/strong>and both bagged 3-0 wins over Kingsmead.

\nHo\u00ebrskool Waterkloof<\/strong> led the way in Pool C, playing at Ho\u00ebrskool Linden<\/strong>. Klofies <\/em><\/strong>rolled against Roedean<\/strong>, charging to a 6-1 win and then shut out Northcliff<\/strong>, winning 4-0.

\nTrinityhouse Rand Park Ridge<\/strong> held Northcliff to a goalless draw and later edged out Roedean, claiming a 2-1 victory. Northcliff, meanwhile, won 3-1 against Roedean.<\/p>\n

Pool D proved to be a closely contested group, with all four teams evenly matched.<\/p>\n

St Andrew’s School for Girls<\/strong> and St Stithians College<\/strong> delivered a tense contest, with St Andrew’s shading it 2-1. Ho\u00ebrskool\u00a0Garsfontein<\/strong>, meanwhile, pulled off a 1-0 win over Helpmekaar Kollege <\/strong>and then handed St Andrew’s <\/strong>a 1-0 defeat.<\/p>\n

Garsies<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em>then, turned on the style to stun St Stithians <\/strong>4-0. Saints<\/em><\/strong> mustered a 3-3 draw with Helpmekaar in one of the most exciting clashes of the day, while Helpies <\/em><\/strong>added another draw to their record, finishing 1-1 against St Andrew’s.<\/p>\n

The action continues on Tuesday, with the tournament’s last day taking place on Thursday.<\/p>\n
