Photo: Brad Morgan.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">Opening bowler <strong>Vincenzo <\/strong><\/span><strong><span class=\"cf0\">Loutz<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"cf0\"> captured two key wickets in the first over of <strong>Glenwood<\/strong>&#8216;s <\/span><strong><span class=\"cf0\">Eston<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"cf0\"><strong> One Insurance T20 Night League<\/strong> match against <strong>Hilton College<\/strong> on Wednesday, at the <strong>Beaumont <\/strong><\/span><strong><span class=\"cf0\">Eston<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"cf0\"><strong> Farmers Club<\/strong>, to set the Durban school on track for a big nine-wicket victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">Star batsman <strong>Ben <\/strong><\/span><strong><span class=\"cf0\">Hockly<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"cf0\">, fresh off <a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/dhs-overpowers-st-charles-as-eston-night-league-heats-up\/\"><strong>a match-winning 84 not out in a six-wicket win over Maritzburg College<\/strong><\/a>, was the victim of a first-baller, caught by <strong>Karabo <\/strong><\/span><strong><span class=\"cf0\">Ntsieng<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"cf0\">, and <strong>Ben Erasmus<\/strong> followed, caught by <\/span><strong><span class=\"cf0\">Olwami<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"cf0\"><strong> Zondi<\/strong>, from the fifth ball of the over.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">Soon, Hilton had slid to 18\/4 in the sixth over, with <strong>Bandile Mbatha<\/strong> removing the dangerous <strong>Alex Pitman<\/strong> for 11, and, painfully for Hilton, <strong>Obakeng <\/strong><\/span><strong><span class=\"cf0\">Motsepa<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"cf0\"> was run out by <strong>Kyle Bryan<\/strong> for a duck.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\"><strong>Jayden Roux<\/strong> and <strong>Robert Burman<\/strong> steadied the ship, adding 32 runs before Burman departed for 22. Roux went on to record the innings&#8217; top score of 23, but <strong>Benoit Rey<\/strong> was the only other batsman to make it into double figures, contributing 17.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">Loutz<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> and Mbatha, the opening bowlers, laid waste to Hilton&#8217;s batting effort. <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">Loutz<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> captured 4\/15 in four overs, while Mbatha knocked over 3\/19 in four. Two run outs also damaged Hilton&#8217;s innings and they were all out for only 96 in the 20th over.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">They had the runs on the scoreboard, though, and Glenwood did not. The <em><strong>Green Machine<\/strong> <\/em>needed a good start, and they made a decent one, with Karabo <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">Ntsieng<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> and <\/span><strong><span class=\"cf0\">Kreesan<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"cf0\"><strong> Pillai<\/strong> putting on 29 for the first wicket in just under six overs before Pillai was bowled by Benoit Rey for 13 from 13.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">Unfortunately for Hilton, that was the first and last success their bowlers enjoyed. <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">Ntsieng<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> and <\/span><strong><span class=\"cf0\">Krian<\/span> <span class=\"cf0\">Jugoo<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"cf0\"> batted responsibly, taking what was given to them, to steer Glenwood to victory off the second ball of the 18th over.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">Ntsieng<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> finished with 44 runs from 53 balls, with three fours, while <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">Jugoo<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> was undefeated on 36 from 40, which included five fours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">Benoit Rey picked up 1\/18 from his three overs, but the Hilton bowlers simply had too few runs to defend, which meant they weren&#8217;t able to build sufficient pressure on the batsmen, and Glenwood cantered to a handsome victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Scores<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\"><strong>Hilton College 96\/10<\/strong> (Jayden Roux 23, Robert Burman 22, Benoit Rey 17*, Vincenzo <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">Loutz<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> 4\/15, Bandile Mbatha 3\/19); <strong>Glenwood High 97\/1<\/strong> after 17.2 overs (Karabo <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">Ntsieng<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> 44*, <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">Krian<\/span> <span class=\"cf0\">Jugoo<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> 36*, Benoit Rey 1\/18).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Glenwood won by 9 wickets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Opening bowler Vincenzo Loutz captured two key wickets in the first over of Glenwood&#8216;s Eston One Insurance T20 Night League match against Hilton College on Wednesday, at the Beaumont Eston Farmers Club, to set the Durban school on track for a big nine-wicket victory.
