The Beaumont <\/strong><\/span>Eston<\/span><\/strong> Farmers Club<\/strong> hosted Glenwood High<\/strong> against the Tuskers Hub u19 XI<\/strong> on Tuesday evening, with the Durban school coming away with a 36-run win in their <\/span>Eston<\/span><\/strong> One Insurance T20 Night League<\/strong> clash.<\/span><\/p>\n

If there’s an area of Glenwood’s game that has been inconsistent in 2025, it has been their batting. Therefore, the Green Machine<\/strong> <\/em>would surely have been satisfied with posting 171\/5 in their 20 overs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Their effort was led by <\/span>Akhiel<\/span> Sinath<\/span><\/strong>. Opening the batting, he cracked 73 from 62 balls, sending 10 of them to the boundary.<\/span><\/p>\n

He and <\/span>Kamogelo<\/span> Moloto<\/span><\/strong> shared a stand of 55 runs for the third wicket in 7.4 overs, with <\/span>Moloto<\/span> striking four fours in his 29 from 25.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sinath<\/span> and <\/span>Kreesan<\/span><\/strong> Pillai<\/strong>, then, advanced the total to 137 before Srinath fell in the 18th over, caught by <\/span>Salmaan<\/span><\/strong> Essa<\/strong> off the bowling of <\/span>Thubelihle<\/span><\/strong> Ndlovu<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an effort to accelerate the late innings’ scoring, Pillai was out for a quickfire 20 from 11, with three fours, while Mishael<\/span><\/strong> Gunawardena<\/strong> provided the boost that Glenwood was after, smashing a six and two fours in his 10-ball 23, while helped the Green Machine to add 27 runs in the last two overs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thubelihle<\/span> Ndlovu was the pick of the Tuskers’ bowlers, capturing 3\/35 in four, while <\/span>Aphiwe<\/span> Nzama<\/span><\/strong> did a tidy job up front, conceding only 18 runs from his four overs.<\/span><\/p>\n

In reply, the Tuskers lost two early wickets, with <\/span>Thubelihle<\/span> Ndlovu out for two, caught by <\/span>Kreesan<\/span> Pillai off of Vincenzo <\/strong><\/span>Loutz<\/span><\/strong>, and <\/span>Siphosethu<\/span><\/strong> Ngcobo<\/strong> also out for two, caught by Sebastien <\/strong><\/span>Oertel<\/span><\/strong>, once again off of <\/span>Loutz<\/span>. That left the Hub XI on 19\/2 in the fifth over.<\/span><\/p>\n

Opener Joshua <\/strong><\/span>Kaltwasser<\/span><\/strong> and Aidan <\/strong><\/span>Subbadu<\/span><\/strong> combined for a 41-run partnership before <\/span>Subbadu<\/span> was bowled by <\/span>Esihle<\/span> Gasa<\/span> for 18 from 22 balls.<\/span><\/p>\n

Owami<\/span> Madlala<\/span><\/strong> and Joshua <\/span>Kaltwasser<\/span>, then, took the score to 99, but <\/span>Madlala<\/span> fell to the last ball of the fifteenth over, caught by Vincenzo <\/span>Loutz<\/span> off of <\/span>Akhiel<\/span> Sinath’s<\/span> bowling for 12.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaltwasser<\/span> and <\/span>Simelolkuhle<\/span><\/strong> Gumede<\/strong> kept Glenwood’s attack at bay the rest of the way, but they were unable to threaten the Green Machine’s total and the Tuskers Hub u19 XI finished on 135\/4.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaltwasser<\/span> did a fine job, ending on 54 not out from 53 balls, three of which he sent to the boundary. Gumede was unbeaten on 17, and the pair added an unbroken 36.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vincenzo <\/span>Loutz<\/span> picked up 2\/15 as Glenwood gave eight players a bowl. <\/span>Esihle<\/span> Gasa<\/span><\/strong>, who was the only one of them to bowl the maximum four overs, returned 1\/21, and <\/span>Akhiel<\/span> Sinath<\/span> picked up 1\/7.<\/span><\/p>\n
