Paarl Boys’ High vs Pretoria Boys’ High (50-over)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having won the toss in Howick<\/strong>, Pretoria Boys High<\/strong> elected to bat first in their day two Oppenheimer Michaelmas Cricket Week<\/strong> match against Paarl Boys’ High<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Boland boys <\/strong>showed their intent from the get-go, however, and bowled superbly to set up a moderate run chase, which led to a four-wicket win.<\/p>\n

Captain Tim Gordon<\/strong>, batting third in the order for Pretoria Boys High, led their challenge, scoring 60 runs off 55 deliveries, which included six fours and two sixes.<\/p>\n

In the middle order, Dylan Kruger, Louis Kruyshaar<\/strong> and Justin Luke Basdeo<\/strong> all scored 17 runs.<\/p>\n

Aden Batt<\/strong> was phenomenal with the ball for Boishaai<\/strong><\/em>, capturing 5\/27 in 10 overs.<\/p>\n

Gideon du Toit<\/strong> and Keanu February<\/strong> also helped to snuff out the Pretoria <\/strong>team’s batting lineup, taking two wickets each as the Gauteng<\/strong> locals were dismissed for 143.<\/p>\n

In at number four for Paarl Boys’ High, Pieter Gildenhuis<\/strong> took it upon himself to chase down the Pretoria total, scoring an unbeaten 65 off 111, hammering nine fours and a six along the way.<\/p>\n

Du Toit, after his useful bowling contribution, also produced a notable contribution with the bat, knocking 38 off 66.<\/p>\n

Basdeo was the only Pretoria Boys High bowler to truly fire. He delivered fantastic figures of 4\/20 from eight overs. But Boishaai won after 38 overs when they reached 144\/6.<\/p>\n

Jeppe High School for Boys vs Paarl Gimnasium (50-over)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jeppe<\/strong> won the toss and chose to have a field first against Paarl Gimnasium<\/strong> at Michaelhouse<\/strong>, but victory went the way of Paarl Gim by a big 124-run margin.<\/p>\n

When Charles King<\/strong> made his way to the crease, Gimmies <\/strong><\/em>were shaky on 41\/3. He steadied matters, batting diligently to score six fours and two sixes in his 78 runs off 92 balls. De Waal Vivier<\/strong>, a key player at the end of the Gimmies<\/strong><\/em> middle order, weighed in with a valuable 56 off 58, cracking four fours and a six.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Keegan Cockburn<\/strong> was lethal in his 9.3 overs, capturing 6\/35, and left-arm spinner Sipho Potsane<\/strong> delivered a venomous 3\/26 from his 10 overs.<\/p>\n

Jeppe was, however, let down by conceding 34 extras, and that helped the Paarl<\/strong> locals to reach 243 all out from 47.3 overs.<\/p>\n

In Jeppe’s reply, Ryan Young<\/strong> continued his excellent form, making the largest contribution. He scored 35 off 48 balls, stroking six fours, while Vegas Scott <\/b>chipped in with 20, but the Kensington boys were well off the pace.<\/p>\n

Zayd Abrahams<\/strong> led Gimmies’ bowling assault, claiming 3\/16 in his five-over spell. Louis Koen<\/strong> took 2\/24, and Beon Swanepoel<\/strong>, his fellow new ball bowler, picked up 2\/32 in 10 overs as Jeppe was bowled out for 119.<\/p>\n
