Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/engensports.co.za\/\"><strong>Engen Sports<\/strong><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There was excitement for some, disappointment for others on Saturday at the <strong>University of Pretoria<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>High Performance Centre<\/strong>, where the <strong>Engen Champ of Champs<\/strong> moved ever closer to the gold medal games.<\/p>\n<p>The event features the provincial champion club teams in the u18 boys&#8217; age group and at u20 women&#8217;s level. It&#8217;s also a stage upon which to unveil the next generation of South African football stars.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, the action kicks off with the semifinals in the morning. Later in the day, the finals take place at the <strong>Tuks Stadium<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/live.supersportschools.com\/category\/61260bfd768002775e104e2e\/sub-category\/6339d8530589756a643a41fc\/\"><strong>Catch the LIVE action on SuperSport Schools\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the boys&#8217; competition, it&#8217;s <strong>Panorama<\/strong> versus <strong>Cape Town City<\/strong> for a place in the final, while <strong>Chippa United<\/strong> tackles <strong>Junior Birds<\/strong> in the other semifinal fixture.<\/p>\n<p>In the girls&#8217; competition, <strong>Durban Ladies<\/strong> take on <strong>Cape Town Roses<\/strong>, and the <strong>University of Johannesburg (UJ)<\/strong> goes up against <strong>EastHigh Girls Academy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Football - Potch Academy vs Cape Town City FC - Engen Champ of Champs - 11 October 2025\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YWzWDMXsK4o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Gauteng champions, Panorama, finished top of group A but were pushed extremely hard on Saturday, which they began with a 1-1 draw against Junior Birds in their first match, followed by a narrow 1-0 victory over <strong>EastHigh Boys Academy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>EastHigh Boys Academy, meanwhile, edged out <strong>Postmasburg<\/strong> 1-0, while Junior Birds beat <strong>Bakgaka United<\/strong> 3-1.<\/p>\n<p>In Group B, the most highly anticipated clash of the day featured Cape Town City and Chippa United, and it was the East London team, Chippa United, which rose to the occasion, claiming a 2-0 victory.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_84738\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-84738\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-84738 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Engen-Photo-Day-2-400x266.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-84738\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/engensports.co.za\/\"><strong>Engen Sports<\/strong><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After that setback, Cape Town City rebounded with a 3-0 win over <strong>Potch Academy<\/strong>, while Chippa United suffered a bit of a letdown, sharing a scoreless draw with <strong>Kusekhaya Football Academy.<\/strong> Kusekhaya, the KwaZulu-Natal champions, also scored a narrow 2-1 victory over Potch Academy.<\/p>\n<p>The KZN champions in the girls&#8217; competition, Durban Ladies, is the only team to have maintained a perfect 100 percent record in the group stages, winning all their matches.<\/p>\n<p>They finished at the top of Group A after overrunning <strong>Sisters<\/strong> 6-0 victory on Saturday before grinding out a 1-0 win over <strong>Royal Wizards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After being overpowered by Durban Ladies, Sisters demonstrated strong character to force a 1-1 draw against <strong>Ixias Ladies<\/strong>, who subsequently endured 2-4 loss against <strong>EastHigh Girls Academy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Royal Wizards, who finished in second place in Group A, reversed their score against Durban Ladies in their next outing, beating EastHigh Girls Academy by the same margin.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Football - Durban Ladies FC vs Sisters FC - Engen Champ of Champs - 11 October 2025\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/K-ciwsROUq4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In Group B, UJ and Cape Town Roses both qualified for the semifinals.
