Stellenberg High vs Wynberg Boys’ High (20-over)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Playing at home, Stellenberg High<\/strong> won the toss and opted to bat first in a second round Switch Schools SA20 – Volume Two<\/strong> showdown with Wynberg Boys’ High <\/strong>on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The hosts didn’t quite see out their 20 overs, with their innings coming to a halt four balls before its scheduled end for 124. Wynberg Boys’ High<\/strong>, then, got the job done with 10 balls to spare, winning the match by six wickets.<\/p>\n

Michael Amoedo<\/strong>, who batted at three for Stellies<\/strong><\/em>, delivered a good knock, striking 42 runs off 30 balls, which included two fours and four sixes. Unfortunately for the hosts, his peers in the middle order didn’t stay around long enough with him to build telling partnerships.<\/p>\n

Harbin Smith<\/strong> led the Wynberg attack, snapping up 3\/19 in four overs, while Nicholas Stafford<\/strong>‘s full allotment brought him 3\/21. The captain and Deputy Head Boy for 2026, Michail Tarentaal<\/strong><\/a> claimed 2\/29.<\/p>\n

The visitors didn’t face the stiffest of targets, but JJ Rothman<\/strong> caused them some difficulties, knocking back 1\/14 in four overs. His economy rate of 3.5 was the best by any bowler in the match.<\/p>\n

Wynberg’s Hugo Norambuena<\/strong> made his way to the crease after the fall of the first wicket and produced the highest score for his team, cracking two fours and a six in his 30 off 26 balls.<\/p>\n

In at six, Tarentaal helped to seal the deal, weighing in with an unbeaten 25 off 22, which included two fours and a maximum.<\/p>\n

Bishops Diocesan College vs Langa Hub (20-over)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bishops<\/strong> had their way with Langa Hub<\/strong> in their Switch Schools SA20<\/strong> clash, dismissing the Hub cheaply before galloping their way to a 10-wicket home victory.<\/p>\n

With his return of 4\/9 in two overs, Matthew Edwards<\/strong> brought a fiery intensity to the Bishops’ bowling lineup, averaging a wicket every three balls. Raa’id Arendse<\/strong> also played his part by picking up 2\/2 in two overs, as Langa was skittled for only 33.<\/p>\n

Faced with a small victory target, opener Luc Dicey<\/strong> went on the attack from the first ball, walloping three fours and a six in a rapid and unbeaten 23 off only nine deliveries.<\/p>\n

It took the hosts just 11 deliveries to win, with Bishops finishing on 34 without loss.<\/p>\n
